Whenever a new staff comes in don’t they almost always keep some of the old staff on hand for continuity? If so he would seem an obvious choice to stay.

The mood around Georgia Tech’s donors and fans was not positive toward the idea of hiring Whisenhunt, despite the fact that he played QB for the Jackets back in the day.

He wasn't really a QB. He just had to play there due to injuries, iirc
