Please enlighten me as to what a kicking machine is.

A JUGS machine? Janikowski? Me in high school?
A JUGS machine that throws out footballs for returners to practice, smartass. You obviously need enlightenment.

John is a very successful developer in Charleston , making way too much money to step down to the AD slot.

He is also a cancer survivor and probably doesn't need to face the physical demands of the job.

I would like to see him on the search team, he would bring some strong credentials to that area.

We have got to innovate here and in that spirit -

FOOTBALL AD - Coleman Rudolph

BASKETBALL AD - John Salley

BASEBALL AD - Jason Varitek

GOLF AD - Larry Mize

WOMEN'S SPORTS AD - Maria Sharapova

Let's vet David Perdue. No, seriously, look him up. We need someone who is experienced in turn around jobs, and i think having a GT man would be a good thing too. Who cares about athletics admin experience, let an associate AD deal with all the NCAA minutia and such. We need a manager, marketer, politically smart fund raiser type.

Well if that's the bar we're setting, I'd much rather have the GT alum running Waffle House as AD rather than senator jean jacket

Well, i know he wouldn't leave his Senatorial post in any case, but my hope is to vet a few non traditional candidates. Sure, if we can find some great traditional candidates let's of course vet them as well.

Steve Orsini was known as an excellent fund raiser at SMU, ended up losing his job because he grated on the administration. He might be a traditional choice to vet. He was associate AD here at Tech in the late GOL era, so he knows us well.

****, Orsini is the guy that hired GOL at UCF!

One more thing, Orsini damn nearly bought CPJ with that SMU money, but had to settle for June Jones when CPJ picked GT. June turned out pretty good, at least while Orsini was there, snapped a 25 year bowl drought. Orsini also hired Larry Brown who took SMU into the top 25 for the first time in who knows how long. I like the fact that he already likes CPJ.

I will pass on Perdue, thank you very much.

Not that i really think he could honestly be a candidate, given his current position, but curious why? His politics maybe, or something else?

I remember seeing him visiting tailgates when he was running. He was wearing an old sweatshirt, I think it was from the Citrus Bowl or something.
