Odds Shark has KSU on top

Those tweets are ominous.

Thacker/Collins have trouble getting substitutes in quickly. Given the time of possession advantage that option teams can have, this could be a long afternoon.

KSU will be ready to play. Will GT? Collins just lined up against the Citadel and thought that the talent differential would win out.

Hey, Tech football just got a mention on "Pardon the Interruption!!!!!" Don't see that too often.

From a quick scan, it looks like KSU has never played a P5 opponent, and only a couple FBS teams (Kent State and Georgia State) but I might be missing something. I hope we get aggressive on defense and attack their OL. Early in the season, they are going to be more prone to turnovers, especially if we can get after their QB at the snap. The traditional “assignment football” approach tends to avoid big plays by giving up 4-5 yards per carry and sustained drives. It makes more sense with better athletes to force fumbles and rattle their QB. I think we can score enough on them to win easily if we keep them from controlling the clock, even if we give up some big plays.

Kent State needed a FG in overtime to beat KSU. Georgia State threw a game winning TD pass with 41 seconds left to beat KSU. They are no slouch. They will be ready. And you can be certain no one wants it more Bohannon.

What's really sad is how good we'll feel, and how positive CGC will spin it, when we beat an FCS team that's (apparently) never even played a P5 team before.

I'm like a five year old, "I don't wanna be happy!"

I pray to the almighty father we win but I also have a shimmer of hope that a loss will accelerate CGC's departure

I've always kinda wondered what would have happened if CPJ had been willing to expand the offense a little more. The diamond stuff with Vad worked well at times but seemed half-hearted, and when things didn't work out it was like he doubled down on the standard flexbone stuff. Obviously he can coach circles around Collins, but I think his stubbornness made recruiting a harder job than it needed to be.

This game seems like a terrible matchup.
Opponent from up the road with a few chips on their shoulders.
Option offense with tempo which only one is required to make it difficult on our defense.
Limited offensive drives available to overcome incompletions to open receivers.
A sandwich game between one of the worst losses, maybe the worst loss, in Georgia Tech history and playing Clemson. Oof.
We seem to enjoy proving that our improved roster talent doesn't mean we beat lesser teams.

That said, I'm wrong about predicting Georgia Tech football pretty often.

If you lose to an FCS at this point you should be fired, if you lose to an FCS up the road we will be the biggest laughing stock in the state of ga for the foreseeable future and will require Collins to be fired on the spot and not even be allowed back on the bus.
