official 2009/ 2010 recruiting thread

GTland, I think I remember you rating the DT's in the state, in this order as: Smith, Green, McCoy, etc.

Just curious, is that your personal opinion? If so, I understand you could disagree with those ranking. If not, why would Green not be ahead of McCoy, or at least a 4*?

I think Green could end up being a 4* after his senior season ends. He is not one to really wow you at camps and combines but when the lights come on in the stadium, he's a monster in the trenches.

He will be a 3* for now.

I would rank the DT's in the state like this..

1. Garrison Smith
2. Mike Thornton
3. Denzel McCoy
4. Shawn Green
5. Jeff Whitaker

IMO, they are all franchise DT's for any big time program. So ranking them is just for fun but they are all great DT's.

Ryan Ayers 4* 20
Morgan Bailey 3* 29
Barry Bostic 4* 19
Shawn Green unraked as of now
Fred Holton 3* 36
Isaiah Johnson 4* 20
Denzel Mccoy 4* 12
Charles Perkins 3* 41

Tyrone Cornelius is going to the Gamecock Showcase
Ryan White is not attending the Gamecock Showcase.

I know he really wanted a offer. Doubt he will get one though. If he does that's the only way he won't come to GT IMO.
 
Tech's class ranking will only go lower when other schools reach 20 to 29 comittments. I think the rankings are based on an accumulation of numbers so the more comittments you have that are highly rated, the higher the ranking. The shortage of scholarships for Tech will make the class look weak based on the ranking system.
