official 2009/ 2010 recruiting thread

Exactly! The defensive players in D1 are bigger, stronger and meaner. Tracy Ham was a fine QB but he didn't face D1 defenses every week.

Nowhere do you mention playing for Paul Johnson, you merely state that Tracy Hamm wasn't big enough for D1, which is silly because he played D1.

By D1 Nashville meant FBS level. Used to be called D1 and FCS used to be called D2 at one point.

It's amazing how many people don't know this...or care to know.

FCS was ALWAYS DI.

Before it was FCS it was DI-AA. And FBS was DI-A.

O well, my mistake. I thought there was something even before what you mentioned.

Either way, the point still stands, playing at FCS doesn't necessarily mean you could play in FBS with the same results.

I know this is the 2009/2010 recruiting thread, but does anyone that follows recruiting have an idea what positions will be recruited heavily next year? Do you think we continue to recruit heavily on the defensive side?

To early to tell

But I know we want two QB's

I think next year will be balanced

Just a guess
2 QB's
2 A backs
1 b back
2 WR
3 OL

2 QBs? We have five on scholarship right now, correct? Nesbitt, Shaw, Luallen, Sims, Washington, add Days and then we'll have 6. Unless some move to other positions or transfer, which I guess is totally possible, then I guess we will need them. Two positions I think we'll really need some help at soon is LB and WR. Any chance we land some big-time WR recruits, after seeing the success of Thomas?

Well Nesbitt will be a Senior next year. I expect Tevin to move positions soon.

That leaves Shaw, Luallen, Sims and maybe Days.

A WR were looking at this year is Quin Roberson.

I bet we take three LB's next year.

Yeah, its a must have to land some talent next year. It just keeps looking like GT will miss on Parker. Crazier things have happened though, still got the last OV.

Robinson is a lock to GT, if/when offered. He is a STUD.

First name of the robinson kid so i can search him? Also Jeremy Moore is supposed to be stud WR also and don't forget Hill

Shawn Green got hurt at practice today. It was a knee injury but he walked off by his own power.

Mccoy said that Auburn, Notre Dame and Tennessee are still trying to get him to visit. But he doesn't want to risk his scholarship with Georgia Tech. He said he didn't ask Paul Johnson if he could take the visits or not. He declined himself.

gtland, what do you know about izaan cross's little brother imani? he's a sophomore this year. played at flowery branch high school (same as cross, jaybo, and daniel drummond). just transferred to North Hall in gainesville, ga. helped lead his team to the state finals as a freshman and state semis this year. he's a 6'2 220 lb running back. would be great as a B-back in our system IMO.

I saw Imani play this year, and I think he will be an absolute stud by his senior year. He has good size and very good speed. I've heard rumors that Flowery Branch's coach is leaving. Maybe that's why he went to N. Hall.
