Official ACC Network Launch Day Thread

I’m expecting the Winston Salem tractor pull to be aired at 10pm, followed at midnight by Australian Rules Football.

This is bad.

Real bad.

We go from Ralph Sampson to Christian Laettner.

Not even talking about present day. It’s talking glory years.

What. In. The. Literal. öööö.

You'd think the ACC would want to emphasize that its not just a basketball conference, but a big time football conference, right out of the gate. (I am not currently tuned in)

I just spent 45 minutes on the phone with Spectrum and found out my area won't get the channel until 9/6.

öööö öööö öööö öööö

Same. Charter sent me a email saying they will get ACCN but failed to leave out the 9/6 information.

Do you have the Silver package or higher. I think that’s what it is called.
You need Silver or higher. I just spoke with Spectrum and my area, Dallas, TX, won't be live until 9/6. Probably buried ina 10 page details document.

What really pisses me off is that the ACC probably caved to ESPN on the revenue share and thought as long as our little sandbox is covered then we can stomach keeping the defending national champions opening game unavailable to many but also send the message that as long as the region is taken care of then we've done our job growing the brand be darned. Holy run on sentence. Rum ham.

Was the first show a basketball preview? I was expecting a some rah rah yay ACC sports/lets get this öööö going type hour and all I saw was the beginning of a generic ass Roy Williams interview. I went back to the barves and that’s probably the last time I check out the network outside a Tech road game.

Yes you would think. Instead it's blast from the past on Tobacco Road.

This ‘86 Duke thing is extremely repetitive.

We lost a bunch. We learned. We won.

How many times are they gonna repeat that message?

After reports of the glorious debut of ACCN - Xfinity don’t bother.

A “network” to cover 2 basketball teams and 1 football team.

Anymore questions about why “It just doesn’t mean more” ?

I checked the guide. They are running the two Coach K shows about 3 times per day for the next week. SMH.

I found out that the GT women’s basketball team had two transfers approved to play this coming season before I heard anything about Geoff Collins, Mack Brown, or Manny Diaz.

They played a replay of the 2009 ACC Championship at 3AM this morning. I wonder if the ACC/NCAA is aware...because I was under the impression that game never happened...

Repost.

Seems like a lot of whining in this this thread. In the first 30 minutes they did a brief rundown of each team leading into football season. There will be a multi-part series on Clemson’s 2018 season over the weekend. And yeah, the ACC has been a basketball conference. That isn’t exactly breaking news.

And as noted here previously, the first sporting event shown was our 2009 ACC CG victory against Clemson.

Wes has a nice GT sign behind him in a primo spot in the studio.

I take it nobody watched The Huddle last night? Mark Richt is a total tool. They were basically going through the whole league and asking questions about the upcoming season, and they had Louisville and Tech together and and asked which program would be generating the most "buzz" after year 1? D-bag's answer was STTE of, "It won't be Tech after the butt whoopin they take from those bulldawgs at the end of the season." What a piece of ööööe homer. I bet you won't catch anybody on the SECNetwork saying anything like that about one of their conference schools. It's one thing to show a little favoritism to places you've been associated with, but he was being a bitch little fan boy. E Mac and EJ Manuel showed a little bit of favoritism to Clemson and FSU but they did it the right way.

Hopefully a little foreshadowing to the first live sporting event they're gonna show.
