Official Geoff Collins Fired Watch Party Thread

And what could he possibly point to as evidence that his time at AD hasn't been a failure? The two revenue sports that drive the bus for everything else are a dumpster fire. Please tell me that the GT prez can see this and TDope can't pull the wool over his eyes.
Yes but, but women's volleyball!

LOL I found this…

I'm guessing the idiot is saying he watched with opposing fans and they had fake pity in their hearts so now he is proud. öööö that noise.

The $100M + raised for the edge building.

$100M reasons he's not getting fired.

I'm not defending him - just answering your question.

Did he have any special connections that made this happen? Or just a solid campaign that got a response from alumni that any decent AD could do?

To try and be fair, does he have ANY track record of making a hire that has worked out at his previous stops?

Is the north deck still a financial albatross around our neck? Last I remember, we were still making big payments on that project and might have had some kind of balloon payment looming.

I guess it’s probably easier to raise money for something new than for something old, but getting out from under the old debt would probably give us more flexibility for the future than doing another big capital project.

Yes. Out total debt is somewhere north of $200 million and IIRC we pay somewhere around $12 million in payments toward the debt each year (against total revenue of around $80 million)

It is not a good idea to spend $130 million or whatever on the north deck and then seeing very little, if any, incremental revenue.

I hope the interest rates were locked down. Given TStan's financial incompetence, I suspect he probably went with variable rate loans.

TStan should be the first one out the door. If he stays, the disaster will continue even if Collins is removed.

All that $$$ for the north deck and with exception to one game every other year, and maybe one or two others, it basically sits vacant with metal benches absorbing sunshine, rain, and JJ’s tears.

And we gave up around a 3 to 5 year stretch of the only home games on our schedule with actually fill the damn thing...

Not sure if that goes in #2 or #3......

TStan is a donkey.

I didn't hate the move to MBS because the idea is that we'd sell 70,000 tickets with big matchups with big opponents (I didn't love it either). Then we go 9-27 and we can't sell more than 40k tickets for these big games. Solid plan on paper except for the whole constant losing thing.

I think it’s possible we sell more tickets so people can show up and personally boo him. I may drive to Orlando Saturday for that very purpose.
