Official Geoff Collins Fired Watch Party Thread

Is the north deck still a financial albatross around our neck? Last I remember, we were still making big payments on that project and might have had some kind of balloon payment looming.

I guess it’s probably easier to raise money for something new than for something old, but getting out from under the old debt would probably give us more flexibility for the future than doing another big capital project.

Only gay people sit there.

I believe Collins has coached his last game at BDS.

We don’t get cost savings until 01/01/23.

If we don’t fire him this week, we’re obviously ööööed. There’s no point in waiting - candidates are scooped up and recruiting is absolutely wasted.

The mid December dates rumored around these parts for some time now only apply for HIS buyout (if he were to leave). Tech’s on the hook based on calendar year.

I’m stunned at this contract. Stunned.

I wouldn't say we are ööööed if we don't fire him this week. No one is taking a job until the season is over. Recruiting is pretty much wasted in a coaching transition year no matter what. We are going to flush the season, either way. The urgency is in the optics of showing the fans they are trying to fix the situation. No material difference if it happened today vs a week or two from now.

We save about $300,000 a week for every week we wait.

And to add, his buyout this year is only $2 million. Who wrote this ööööty contract? Why shouldn't his buyout be equal to ours. Not that it matters anyway.

The contract is ridiculous from the schools point of view. Why make all of these concessions? It’s like TStan thought he was hiring a guy who had half-a-dozen other offers on the table.

How is that incongruent? What I believe will happen and what I believe should happen are two different things

I know you’re trolling, but I think this is right. I posted in another thread that if UCF were a home game it would already be done.
How is that trolling? He’s not getting fired this week, but I don’t think anybody wants to see this show come back for a home game.

Word on the street is Todd and Collins are both gone but we are going to need to secure a loan for the initial chunk. Todd has essentially gone into hiding. He obviously won’t fire Collins since he is tied to him. So either this Sunday or the next. But yes he’s coached his last game at Bobby Dodd. This scenario still pisses me off.

I figured you were being contrarian on whatever the current public sentiment is to rile people up.
