"I do not know who they are or if or when we will hire them, but there are a number of coaches who can be successful here and turn Tech back into a winning program."
If you don't know who they are, how do you know they even exist, you ööööing imbecile?
I do not GAF one way or other about the 3O. It's neither my favorite kind of play call nor something I would feel "embarrassed" about.
But I'm old enough to remember why they brought in CPJ in the first place. It was a recognition that Tech could never win a conventional war by trying to out-Croot (I know you hate that, you ööööing cancer-wishing cocksucker) UGA, Clem's Son, Miami, FSU, or anyone in the SEC. Tech would be, is right now, and always will be at a talent deficit to those programs. Even super-Crooter CGC has not, and never will, overcome that. We needed - and still need - a different approach. We turned to a coach who had found a way to win a lot of games at Navy with an even bigger talent deficit than Tech has. A system that did not rely upon superior Jimmies and Joes to still win a lot of games. If we run the same systems as UGAg (for example) but with the inevitable inferior talent . . . WTF do you think the outcome is going to be?
NOTHING HAS CHANGED FROM THEN TO NOW. I care about winning as much as possible. NOTHING else. DNGAF if it's a Mickey Mouse offense, or a high school offense, or a pee-wee offense, or if it EVER gets ANYONE to the NFL. Not interested in winning February-April - I want to win September-December. Maybe it's an RPO based system. Maybe its a run-and-gun. But the 3O should not be ruled out. Teams have won a lot of games with the 3O with inferior talent.
Whoever we hire in 2022 or 2023 should be able to articulate a clear plan to winning games with inferior talent. Can Monken do that? I have no idea. If he can, then maybe we should hire him. If he can't, then No.
