Is what we have to endure before I think we can realistically get rid of Collins.

It’s not going to happen with him, if he can’t coach now he won’t be able to later. It was a fun idea, but it’s time to move on. He’s made more coaching mistakes in 1 game than CPJ in 1 season.

Let’s go get 3 more wins next year and then move on.

I agree - unless he now wins 7 next year and a bowl he is probably gone.
Excepting a win over the hunchbacks or uga. Patience is enough for one more season only.
No one was ever going to wait 5 years.

Lol. He could possibly win 7 next year. It’s possible. And then probable he’s return to 3 per year again annually. Why not give him another extension if we go bowling next year. That would be the ticket to long term success.

Long term suffering actually.

I wonder if there’s performance requirements in that contract? I know there’s incentives, but is there a way out if he crashes and burns...like he’s been doing so far?
You think someone who gave out a 7-year contract to his pal built in safety cords? No there is nothing because Stansbury “knows football” and everyone who “knows football” knows that the option left us in a black hole of disgusting filth of talent so it was going to take at least 9 years to get us back to .500. When you think of it that way we got a deal on the contract.

Should have fired Collins after year 2 and then hired CPJ again. He would probably win 9 with this talent tbh.

How much is the buyout after next year?

How much is the buyout after next year?
After 2021 - $13.8 million
After 2022 - $10.5 million
After 2023 - $4.8 million
After 2024 - $2.4 million

edit: during his fourth season the buyout is $10.5 million, but starting with his 5th year in the position the buyout is $7.2 million ($2.4 million per year for remaining 3 seasons), according to AJC.

If you fire CGC, you need to fire the bonehead that keeps negotiating these long term contracts. I would pay a tad more at the front end for the ability to have a shorter term and make the coach prove himself to get a longer term agreement.

We can raise $100 million in an overall Athletics initiative to improve facilities including a new Edge building, but can't raise a few mil for an early buyout? Some of these high rollers need to step up if they care as much as they say they do.
