Our coaches suck

Or the boomer boosters recognized we have a serious problem in that we are not attracting fans and talent and we had to make a change. We have been hemorrhaging fans for years.

That was the correct call even if Collins wasn’t the right guy.
No. Supporting the program and injecting someone who resonates with recruits would’ve done the same thing. The problem wasn’t the offense it was the personality and marketing. Geoff Collins could’ve gotten defensive recruits for us while we ran the option. I guarantee it. We simply did not have a coach who made kids excited about coming to GT. We weren’t sexy because our coach sold them on a 40-year plan not a 4-year plan. It was like sellling mutual funds instead of crypto to these kids.

Yea how many fans are we attracting now? How much does it matter if you get "talent" if they lose?

Just because Collins isn’t working out doesn’t mean it wasn’t the right call to move away from the option. Your inability to understand those are two separate issues is idiotic.

I don’t think there is any evidence to suggest this is true.

Your blaming of the option on our losing of fans is more idiotic. Look at the video posted yesterday from 2011. We were running the option and the place was rocking.

Collins has been able to recruit everywhere he has been. He’s still recruiting at a high level despite our lack of success. He sold our AD on a 7-year contract. He convinced AD’s he was a driver for Mississippi State, Temple, GT, and Bama’s success. He can get people to do what he wants.

None of those are the same as trying to recruit defensive players against opponents telling them they are gonna get cut block in practice every day.

Literally anyone could’ve been a better option except Collins, I would’ve taken a Clemson Grad Transfer as a head coach

Show me someone in the past 20 years that has recruited a talented defense to a triple option school in FBS.
It doesn’t matter. you don’t think it can be successful despite being successful at the school you root for. You won’t ever change your mind.

Can we please put a moratorium on the quitter conversation?
No. Because he was run out despite bringing success to the program we hadn’t seen in years. Itd be like Iowa forcing Kirk Ferentz out.

He was forced out to the point the AD have a 7-year contract because he thought the rebuild was that impossible. Imagine having that as your boss.
