“Seems” or did is the heart of the contention about knee jerk. It seems.
This ain't it.
It seems he not only condoned but encouraged some pretty weird sexual hazing. If what (now) 11 players said is true, there's no way I would want him leading my football program. That's some weird öööö.
This. I remember hearing about elephant walks and other stupid öööö being done by high school teams. And zulus by rugby teams. The best part of this is going to be the fallout at other schools once their players who didn’t get playing time start going public with their hazing stories. Let’s hope it piles on Kirbs. This öööö goes on a lot more than you think

It definitely does but if that's the excuse for not punishing people for it then it will never stop. And really it should stop.
You could legit find reasons to fire 95% of coaches if you look hard enough. The I got butthurt because I didn’t get to play so let me air my grievances is old

Dude was 1-11 last year and 3-9 the year prior.Another win for the knee-jerk woke mob.
Another chance for somebody to come on the internet and justify criminal behavior by using political buzz words.Another win for the knee-jerk woke mob.
Art Briles and I'll die on that hillMy favorite part any time a pretty good coach is fired amid scandal and disgrace is the inevitable "Tech should hire him" post.
Maybe it’s a way of dealing with hidden homosexual feelings they have but don’t dare act on. They turn to bullying as a defense mechanism hoping that as they mature the feelings will disappear.

Is the sexual assault because they were “forced” to be naked and do stuff or the dry humping? Or both? I don’t understand cultures that use hazing to bond. I think it should be eliminated, but I also think the main way to make it stop is simply not participate. Or end it when you are in a position to end it.I'm not really sure I understand this.
Are you saying that a culture of widespread sexual assault in a program over the course of multiple years is not a reason to fire a coach, or are you saying it is a legitimate reason to fire him but he should get a pass because the only reason we know about it is a "butthurt" player?
I’m not sure how you reached your opinion that college and pro sports people are some of the most amoral people around. I would rate them somewhat in the middle. Slightly below truck drivers and teachers and slightly above insurance agents and bankers. As for the surprise of the reaction, how would you feel if you had invested time and money in this program and found out that this idiocy was being ignored if not encouraged? Is the sexual assault because they were “forced” to be naked and do stuff or the dry humping? Although I suppose getting the legendary coach fired who built it the program out of nothing first as a player and then as coach and forcing a mass exodus of players will also work. I can’t bring myself to believe it is as bad as the allegations are. Maybe I’m just too soft on the seriousness of sexual assault in the locker room.
The car wash thing sounds hilarious…but I can see how someone would not want to participate.
I believe people in college and professional sports are some of the most amoral people around. So it always surprises me the reaction to some of the things they do.
