Paul Johnson Estate Sale

You bringing up moral victories or scoring on a rocket toss late to make the game look close doesn’t change the avg fan opinion.

Oh and losing to Duke & UNC doesn’t help this argument.

Skov and those walk on ABacks wasn’t scoring.

As always, CPJ teams always focused on the offense as if Defense & ST are not part of the team. Even Patenaude would carve up that defense

Moral victories are just another kind of victory that these CGC teams don't have. A CPJ team focused on 1 of the three facets of the game is still focused on more facets than a CGC team. 2015 was a bad team. 2019-2021 are clown teams. We rebounded from 2015 with a pretty decent 2016; I'm still waiting on the bounce-back from 2019, 2020, or 2021...

You not trying to argue it but you are doing exactly that.
If your close losses are flawed

GT was down 30-7 until Skov scored 2 TDs under a minute left in the 4th.

Well hell, I didn't realize that late TDs don't count. I guess we won that NIU game after all! (Too bad about that 2021 Duke loss, though, since we scored the winning TD too late in that game.)

If Chan or O'Leary had a 3-win team that we could compare against, I'd do that instead. It just happens that the only other one in recent memory was a CPJ team. (I'd also argue that a hypothetical 3-win Chan or O'Leary team would beat any of CGC's teams, because all of his teams have been poorly coached and fundamentally unsound.)

This is an honest question. I think of estate sales as selling items of somebody that has died. Why do living people have estate sells? Is it usually from a shortage of money? A lack of room or a change in your domestic situation.

Are you arguing that 30-7 with a late comeback is akin to 55-0?

I guess you could also argue that last years ND was a close, one score affair until we threw a pick 6 with 12 minutes left in the first quarter

I’m arguing that it’s disingenuous to call a lot of those games close

My uncle handles estate sales. Most of his clients have large homes loaded with stuff and they want to downsize. They’re usually older people looking to simplify their remaining years.

This. I’ve helped my mother downsize from a 3800sqft home filled with stuff to a 1200sqft condo, I’ve purged my own home, moving into another and now I’m helping my MiL downsize. It’s really a nightmare, so much stuff that brings up memories that you just can’t keep and no one else wants. Perhaps I should have had an estate sale because I had little luck selling anything online. I got to be on a first name basis with Goodwill.

One piece of advice: before you purchase anything think of how you’ll dispose of it…because you will one day.

Currently downsizing 40 years of stuff, including stuff from my parents 30+ years ago. Been in our current house 25 years. Ended up giving away stuff and using College Hunks Hauling Junk. Has really been a tiring process and I agree, when you start looking at stuff, all the memories come back, and it makes it difficult. BTW, will the last American leaving south Forsyth please fold up the flag and turn out the light.

Hey Lee, we are having an estate sale this Friday and Saturday. of my parents household items from the last 60+ years in Gainesville. Can I interpret this post as a no go in terms of interest? :-) The best part was their listing items on the website as "Vintage" that I can remember my whole life.

You know you’re getting old when you see toys you played with as a kid in antique stores.

I play golf at St Marlo sometimes with old friends and one of them moved in there within the first year of its opening. When I drive from the gate to the clubhouse, I think I'm in a foreign country. And when these neighborhoods put signs out at their entrances in the spring with the names of the HS graduates living in that neighborhood...

He's had the place in NC for a long time. Don Shula (RIP) was one of his neighbors.
PJ damn sure don't need the money. Dude's been working the stock market since I've known him. And that's 25 years.
That and golf when he should have been refining his offense and learning how to coach defense.

What’s the best way to try to sell some of it? Yard sale?
