so what yall think GTAA will do? we are still 19 days away from the earliest time they expect announce protocols for BDS (or no protocols although at this point i think there will be some).

I do not think that capacity limits would be reinstituted or vax status made an issue due to those legalities mentioned above.
So i think it's either masks encouraged but not required or masks required. GTAA will probably choose the latter

You can’t really enforce mask wearing, especially unless everyone is required to wear it, so don’t understand the practicality of #1. They’d have to check you as you enter and then spot check everyone removing their mask during the game, which won’t happen. All it would do is force unvaccinated folks to carry a mask as they enter, then many or most would skip it.

I picked #3, realize I won’t win a popularity contest for it. I unfortunately am the beneficiary of high level medical advice from docs who have no agenda other than to keep me alive and I was happily vaccinated in February.

There's really nothing quite like being awake at 3 am wondering if your dad is dying because of this shot.

Maybe your parents can find out what it's like to lose a son. I'd like that. We all would.

Do people really need to be Vaxxed up at an outdoor venue?

Good question, my sister is a nurse and tells me recent contact tracing suggests delta spreads relatively easily via brief contact versus the first wave. I’m told this is standard virus evolution - gradually becomes easier to catch but less deadly.

I’ll ask my Emory oncology doc about this later in the month. He told me I was ok without a mask in the company of vaccinated people, but if unsure about vax status wear a mask. The data I’ve seen looks like the vaccine is at least somewhat effective v. delta, but we’ll see. I’ve read the vax side effect reports - the vaccine was one of my lowest risk medical activities of the past couple of years.

When I hopefully go to a game (depending on how delta plays out), I’ll go early, sit in the north stands (plenty of open space:-) and leave late to avoid crowds at entrances while wearing a mask coming and going. Don’t need a mandate, I know how to manage my risk. So my vote was just for fun, no big deal.

Not only that, but on the Infinitesimal change that you do catch Covid outdoors, the chances of anyone under 50 dying from it akin to dying from the flu. Older folks should definitely be vaccinated IMHO, but if they choose not to get vaccinated, they just take the health risk upon themselves.

However the one non-mRNA vaccine I have heard of has not yet been distributed in the US, and may not till 2022, so I am hopefully waiting. I may feel the absolute need to get vax'd before Sept 4, but I haven't decided for sure yet. I am, or will be soon, 77, so I don't want to take a chance.

Fulton County just added mask mandate for county buildings ... indoors but just gives GTAA more ammo to roll out their own mandates.

The J&J drug is not mRNA but works by gene editing one's DNA. It's also by EUA and not yet FDA full approved.
Guillain-Barré syndrome was added by CDC to the J&J warnings along with the J&J blood clots.
I'd still prefer J&J over mRNA but i want the "dead virus cells" (traditional vax) that's in phase3 trials in UK.

Novavax is also traditional, and it has apparently been approved for distribution, but it's going overseas first and will not be available in this country until 2022
