PJ and Uniform Changes

BLACKOUT!!!!11!!!

No, I'm kidding. Of our current unis I love the white top with gold pants. I wish we'd go back to wearing them at home. I wouldn't change those at all, I think the font looks great (much better than the one used at the end of the 1990s, in my opinion - though those do bring back memories of JoeHam and the Goose).

I'm not in love with our current gold tops, but since I just gave my cousin a gold Tashard Choice jersey for his birthday, I'd prefer if we kept that in the rotation for at least a little while longer.

Tech's colors are OLD GOLD and WHITE.

Not NAVY.

Tech fans need to wear gold ad white, not NAVY.

NO NAVY.

If the players wear navy the fans can still wear gold and white. We've worn navy in the past so I don't really see the big deal.

Personally, I love our current gold ones. And I love the current font. The one in the years just before the Reggie Ball era was really ugly.

For the past 5ish years, I've loved our basketball and football uniforms (especially the gold ones).

Then this year, our bball team changed back to a font similar to the old, ugly one. They've kind of grown on me, but I liked our old ones.

I hope we don't change to navy. It's cool as a special occasion thing, but I don't want it all the time. Our colors are white and gold, and I hope they don't change.

Coaches always change uniforms when they come in, though, so I wouldn't be surprised if we look something like Navy soon.

Our gold ones do look way better in person than on TV, though...

Exactly.

VPI wears maroon. All their fans wear 'urnge.

Likewise for Awwburn. Their team wears navy while the fans don the 'urnge.

I'm not a big Navy fan (the color obviously) but I absolutely HATE our current gold jerseys. I don't care about font as long as the numbers stand out so you can read them.

The problem with tech teams wearing navy, is that it lets the fans think that it's okay for them to wear navy. Then we end up with a quarter of the fans wearing navy, a quarter white, a quarter yellow, and the final quarter wearing some smattering of pink and baby blue and whatever else the cursed Barnes and Noble is selling tech paraphernalia in because women think it's cute, and we're Screwed in aerial photos of BDS.

Part of what GOL did when he came, was to be very strong, and very prickish, about Navy not being an official color, to force the stadium to gradually change to gold colors. Later on, they hung the signs up that said "Next time I'll wear gold" in the halls, etc.

Yes, VT fans wear orange and Clemson fans wear orange even when their teams wear Barney-Purple, but that's not how Tech fans behave. We just don't. We suck, when it comes to things like coordinating wardrobes. Big surprise, we're engineers.

I'm not against the team going Navy as a primary color, but BE WARNED, as soon as you do that you can KISS ANY SORT OF COLOR COHESION IN BDS GOODBYE. Not that it's great now, but any progress towards "everyone wearing gold" will be surreptitiously ****canned if the team goes Navy.

Isn't there a button on StingTalk that will automatically lock threads on uniform colors?

I can't find it.

Alan, you are WRONG. the official colors are Old Gold, White, AND NAVY. and, by the way, the FB team wore navy a long time ago, and for years. to commemorate that use of navy, chosen by the FIRST EVER GT football team as one of the colors, The Georgia Institute of Technology and the Georgia Tech Athletic Association have OFFICIALLY adopted the use of Navy as a color (to be mostly used as a trim or 3rd color). they even assigned a PMS number. so DEAL WITH IT

I would bet that if we were asked to wear something reasonable like orange then Tech fans would do it. Gold is a crappy color to try to wear as clothing and it doesn't even show up well on those aerial photos. I wear gold to the games but my wife says I look horrible.

Other schools have this problem too, you ever seen an aerial photo of LSU?

This is officially the fruitiest thread I've ever read on this board. Maybe we need someone from Bravo to come down to Bobby Dodd and help us all look fabulous. I'll be the one wearing the yellow spandex, gold feather boa and giant glittery Elton John sunglasses.

I have no problem wearing gold, but every damn piece of Tech gear I can find is yellow. What's up with that?

There is a reason those jerseys are throwbacks. They would become UGLY in a short period if we wore them every home game.

GTKyle, you may very well be correct about the throwbacks.

I would hope if PJ and the boys want to wear White/Gold then we stick with the Gold hat.

If we stay with Gold/White (which has many merits) then a White hat would look great.

I just hope we are never Gold/Blue/Gold.

Hope we never have any of the crazy ass striping or wierd fonts as well.

Beej, I hate to be the bearer of bad news but our fans already wear 7 or 8 different colors on Saturdays.

Well then if not for the gay connotations we could wear rainbow colors and everybody would be wearing the team colors.
