Please stop defending PJ on other boards. For Pete's sake. The first thread, while tremendously entertaining, had almost every war eagle salivating at the thought of PJ at Auburn.

Quite frankly, there are a few obvious winners in the CFB world and IMHO everyone else is a risk. PJ is a winner. Tressell is a winner. Grobe is a winner. Stoops is a winner. Those guys would win pretty near anywhere. I don't trust Pete Carroll to win three games a year at Navy despite gaudy records with USC. I'd love to see Richt at Middle Tennessee State to see if he really knows how to coach. His record on a level playing field is suspect IMHO.

Gill has performed a single miracle, but so did Bill Lewis. The guys I mention have SUSTAINED success where they compete at a disadvantage. Coordinators are a HUGE risk.

I would hire the Tulsa coach (or Boise coach) after asking Grobe and PJ what it would take and being turned down by both. No way I buy out a freaking coordinator. That's nuts. No way I hire a guy with ONE winning season, even at Buffalo. That's nuts.
 
Hey, lay off Taz. Taz helped facilitate PJ, he helped with the $. But I think Rad made the decision. If you know different, post it.
 
It is a huge mistake to compare Drew Hearn to Lowder. I've known Drew for a lot of years and there is nothing in his soul that he wants anything more than the absolute best for GT. Drew and Louder are poles apart when it comes to integrity. Yes, Drew is very tradition-minded w/ regard to things like our colors, but I promise you he wants winning results on the field as much as do the rest of us, that is winning results by student athletes, not by ringers in crip majors.

Correct, but only as long as the reasons aren't obvious and you don't follow up with a post disproving them.

I think the recruiting angle is by far the best.

Can't get big OL, can't get any defenders since they don't want to be chop blocked and will only run against a gimmick O in practice, can't get WR (obvious), no good QB wants to be hammered every play, can't get RB since the system will get all the credit for their success, etc.

'ell, I've already convinced myself that the only quality players we have any chance in getting are undersized playmakers for the A-Back spots.

I'm not dem, but in the paper today Drad sent email saying meeting was "very productive" with his agent Jack Reale, and both would be working on an appropiate adjustment to PJ's contract.
Does anyone know anything about Reale? Other clients?
 
The Auburn board is in an uproar because the rumor is out on Rivals that they have hired Gene Chizik (5-19 in two years at Iowa state). The citizens of the loveliest village are not happy.
 
Yeah I think it's the real deal. Starting to see it on several venues as well as the fact that the Auburn message boards are lighting up with AU fans complaining...course that doesn't really mean anything. Geez, what a circus.....After the way this all went down who did they think they were gonna get? :dunno:
