PJ

I'm thinking right now of that kid from the Simpsons that laughs and points at people. Not only was Gene Chizik 5-19 at ISU, but he was 0-8 in conference last year, a drop from his first year 2-6. And this was at a team which went 4-4 in conference three out of the five years before him, so it wasn't some college football blackhole.

What's the over/under on Chizik's term? I'm guessing an Orgeron-like three year term, where Auburn will be lucky to have anything left in the cupboard at the end of it.

Why on Earth are they going after this guy? Did some crazy, rich Bama alum infiltrate the AU board and do everything possible to ruin that program? Amazing...

With the way this has played out, it is better than a Friday episode of "Days of Our Lives". I cannot for the life of me understand why Auburn did not go for either Charlie Strong at Florida or Gardner (sp?) at Georgia. Either of them would have been better than the guy they got.

Not only was Chizik 0-8 in the Big XII this year.....

But their avg margin of loss was 20 points....

and (are you ready for this?)

(no really. you arent. you just think you are)

They didn't even play Texas Tech, Texas, or Oklahoma!!!!!

Chizik's first year, he lost to Kent State and Toledo, as well as FCS Northern Iowa. Kent State and Toledo, by the way, finished 1-7 and 3-5 respectively in the MAC.

This could go on all day.

As a betting man, if the OU was set at 3 years, I would take the under in a heartbeat. This is a complete joke.

Pray to God it is under -- like 1 or 2 years -- as I do not want them sniffing our Johnson again -- and 1 or 2 years would be too soon for CPJ to leave, imo.

There is only one possible explanation for this madness:

Somehow, Chizik or Chizik's agent got a hold of some pics of Bobby Lowder making out with a goat.

You want to worry about Johnson leaving....worry about Notre Dame should they fire Weiss and Urban Meyer turn them down.

Also understand...no matter how much we pay him there are certain schools that will be able to pay him more. Another reason I do not like renegotiating contracts too quickly. Either a person wants to stay or they do not when faced with a decision...we will never be able to lock someone down financially.

He strikes me as the type to STAY. GT will allow him to acheive his goals and potentially dominate.

This is a guy who ALMOST did not leave Navy b/c he liked the atmosphere. GT does not have ATOMIC RABID boosters that pull the strings. We may have some powerful guy but the HILL is still the HILL.

CPJ knows that he can win a championship here, that's why I don't believe he will leave until he does. And when he does, winning that second one will be much sweeter.

If Paul Johnson wants to leave, then there's not much we'll be able to do about it. I doubt it will be solely about money, and more about what he wants to do and accomplish. What worries me about him leaving is the state of our program after he's gone. I hope I don't have to worry about that for a long time though.

I think PJ is a stand up guy and he and DRad knew coming in, that a very big commitment had to be made for his time of program. The option requires different players than Chan's pro offense and Tech is making a rather large commitment to those kinds of players. Unless you are a real scuzball, which I do not think PJ is, then you just aren't going to leave a program mid-stream that required such a long term commitment from that program.

agree with all of the last few posts. He is not going to jump this quickly regardless of money....so right now he is here to accomplish a certain goal.

However, if there becomes a point in time that money becomes part of the picture....there is nothing we can do to compete with certain schools.

In the meantime...no worries...and lets win some championships!
