Playoffs?!!

Worked great for FSU last year. When it comes to the corrupt system we need all the backdoors we can get. To think otherwise is naive.
I'm not against expanding the playoff. I just think 12 is too many. Some weak ass teams with multiple losses in heads up competition.

There is nothing compelling about Texas, Penn State, Tennessee, Ohio State, or Indiana. None of them won their conference. All of them have multiple losses except Indiana who didn't even qualify to play for their conference championship. Good teams for sure, but not championship caliber. Pat them on the head and send them home.

Get real bro. It’s not about “championship caliber”. It’s about TV advertising. That’s it. Get past that, then recognize this gives us (Georgia Institute of Technology) the best chance in this modern era for hanging another flag. Also, NIL and portal have leveled the playing field such that the traditional “powers” (self perceived or otherwise) are now facing less depth internally and more parity league wide. That, in my opinion, is good for the sport outside of 5 or 6 college towns. Gone are the days of having 3-4 truly superior teams that are “championship” caliber. When we raise the mf trophy next year, I don’t give a single F if we did it in the backs of loopholes or what the media perception is. Get in. Win. Middle finger to the east.

all that matters now is creating toughest path for UGA .. which should involve non-SEC refs. also, the ball can only bounce their way so many times. regression will catch up with them. though they probably don't know what regression meeans.

Uh... when did we start discussing NIL and portal in this thread?

As to the relevant part of your post, if it's all about TV advertising, then let's expand the playoffs to 36 teams. Play the regular season, skip conference championships and then do a tournament styled seeding of the top 36 teams by ranking committee and play it out like March Madness.

Otherwise the conferences and certainly conference championships are pointless.

CFP Ranking Show is 4 hours long. That’s a long show, will they be announcing all bowl matchups too?

This gets to the heart of my perspective. The combination of a 12 team playoff, vs let's say 4-6, the portal and NIL along with the way we performed last week where we were the better team without question and as a result my newfound optimism and excitement about the future of GT football, where in the current landscape we have a legitimate chance at putting together a title run far more than any time in decades, that is where I'm coming from. I freely admit that this is a fully GT centric way of thinking to the point that I don't care one bit about any of the rest of it. If not for GT, CFB and everyone in it can DIAF for all I care.

I’m unhinged and fucking pissed off about last week and will never get over it and will whine incessantly and tangentially til we play those mouthbreathingcocksuckers again.

And in due time, this will go from 12 to 16 to 20 to 36.
