I have nothing to say. I'm kind of numb to this now. Is this what it feels like to be a Vanderbilt fan? At least my slingtv sub was renewing tomorrow. Cancelled it in the nick of time. Had the half off introductory first month! Silver linings!

Also, you get what you pay for.

Y'all who want to fire Key during his first season may want to look at their bank account and see if you have 30 million to sent to Tech. I didn't,I still think Key will be fine but he does need to look at all the defensive coaches.

Yes, and the CF landscape now, due to NIL & portal, is totally different than when he coached.

A loss like this, first year or not, leaves a very sour taste in the fanbase’s mouths. This is exactly the opposite of what you need to rebuild interest in your program, get folks back in the seats and keep momentum in recruiting. This is the kind of öööö that sabotages everything else you’re trying to do as a first year coach. So unless he can pull a win against Miami out of his ass next week he’s gonna be playing to empty stands for the rest of the season. I’ll be there because I’m an idiot but most people won’t come to see this.

His comment is still the crux of GT’s issues all these years later. Has nothing to do with NIL, Portal.

Has to do with the #1 issue. The school itself. Does not care much at all to be competitive in football or hoops.

This is quite true unfortunately. You have to seriously wonder if there is a future with football. Especially now in the age of free transfers and NIL. I know we should all take a break and sleep on it before we react, but losing to a weak G5 team and giving up 38 points to them is cataclysmic. It's just a huge indictment of our program.

The fact that we got out to the 14-0 lead and so clearly looked like a team with superior talent and then spent the rest of the game playing with our food makes it even worse. We had guys giving coaches hugs on the sideline like it was the 4th quarter of a blowout, instead of 5 minutes into the game, and their effort the rest of the game reflected that.

So you’re blaming the school for ööööty coaching or lack of talent or what exactly? Duke is #17 in the country and haven’t out recruited us for the most part the last 5+years, do they pour in way more $ than Tech to football?

if so, we are screwed and probably should resign to having no program

Especially over the last 5 years. As a sidewalk fan who grew up on GT football and hoops, the combination of getting into my 40’s and the product on the fields and hardwood, I’ve moved more towards just watching games overall.

CFB especially this year is fun. There is NO true #1 at the moment. A case can be made for Texas, Michigan, tOSU, FSU as #1 over the current #1 by default.
