Post SC State Game Discussion 9.9.2023

I suppose the reasoning is construction. I didn't care much for it on the street at north avenue. The band should be playing the stairs like they have been doing traditionally since 2004-ish. Wreck coming down the hill. All that jazz.

Ultimately, I hope we put a park/tailgating area in where Peter's Deck is. It would suck for those who park there so that would have to be addressed.
The construction excuse is bullshit, but we'll have to wait to see how it impacts the north end before we can call them out on it. They're more likely to just block off mare area than they need to just to justify it. There doesn't seem to be the need to block off entire roads to build a highrise anywhere else. Just sayin'.

I don't think they will ever take parking spaces out. It's more likely that they would make the deck taller than to revert to its original state.

Faulkner is auditioning for a head coaching job. The better he does, the more likely he lands a sweet HC deal. Same with Weinke
I think Weinke is in-training for our next OC if Buster moves on in a couple of years after being ultra-successful

We've been floundering in mediocrity for the better part of a decade. I'm ready for something to change to shake things up.
That system is designed to completely eliminate any possibility any small or medium size college school with a small to medium size budget and with a small to medium size fan base ever, ever occupies a playoff spot on national television. Which, honestly, given TCU’s performance against the University of Georgia, in the national championship, might not be a bad thing.

The message needs to be to line up for the player walk and follow them in. By time you get through security, get food, take a leak and get to seats, the team is dressed and warming up. You should be in your seat for that and the A/V should be coordinating with the band to create energy until kickoff.

No one does that anywhere. They are tailgating. Honestly, our stadium and our amenities aren’t nice enough to do that.

You realize we gave up more points to SC State than they had scored in their first two games combined, including against fellow FCS member Jackson State?
They were also 3 games into their season and had likely worked out some wrinkles by Saturday. Yes, the D could have played better, though.

Context matters. You realize we were rolling a lot of subs and they were running a lot of option that we likely didn't prepare for?

with two games of film from this year, them running option was something we should have been prepared for. as if SCS put in an option package in three days? both QBs played week 1 and the running QB got all the snaps last week.

Agree, however the Jackets did adjust, and the option stopped working soon enough. Then again, maybe it was Braelen Oliver who did it. Moala overran the play on goal line on their 2nd TD.

I rewatched on youtube this morning. Wasn't there some preseason talk about LaMiles Brook's being discussed as all ACC. All I can say is wow! I saw him basically shying away from contact and regularly miss tackles against SC State. I shudder to think how Ole Miss is going to shred our defense.

It doesn't look good if we cannot figure out how to get pressure on the QB.

Their starting RB is 5'10" 210 pounds. Imagine how our DB might react to tackling him. Their 4th string RB is none other than Jam Griffin.

I've seen this same remark from several people. Does anybody not remember that he got injured at some point in the Louisville game and didn't play any after the 1st quarter? Apparently he's still not 100%.

If he cannot stick it in there and make a stop, he doesn't need to be playing.
