Rank Em - Best Games You've Seen in Person

1974 Mud Bowl UGA
1985 Fog Game
Err Last Night F$U
Many others but I am still getting over last night

4) Virginia Tech in 2009
The atmosphere that night was special. All The Way Turnt Up made its debut, Kam Chancellor turned out not to be a prophet, Nesbitt was a beast, and that huge TD run of his had Bobby Dodd completely electric. That entire season was full of heart-stopping moments and watching Nesbitt tightrope into the endzone was one of the best.

It's hard to compare these things, but '09 VT is the loudest game I can remember at BDS.

It was boring, I fell asleep.

And really, I'm the only one here that went to the Citrus game in 1990?

I was there. In the endzone. 14 years old. It is my number 1 as well

Last night wasn't the best game, but it was easily the best approximately 30 minutes of my game-going career. From the FG to tie it with under a minute to go, til I was finally walking out of the stadium to my truck, I've never felt that kind of exhilaration and sheer pandemonium. Hugging friends and strangers, hopping onto the field like I was a freshman, running into my cousin on the field who is a freshman, high fives with DMo and Lil Joe, etc etc etc.

That part of it tops 2008 UGA and 2011 Clemson and 2008 Miami and 2014 Clemson and 2000 UGA and all the rest of them.

I had just graduated. Got sun burnt at that game. Way too hot.

1985 uga game in the fog was great. 1984 in Athens when we snapped a 7 game losing streak was incredible also.

2008 FSU still my favorite. Last live sporting event with my dad, and what an ending.

Exactly. As far as the atmosphere, excitement, etc. for the game overall, I don't think last night makes the top five. That's not a knock on last night, we've just had some really great atmospheres and games at Bobby Dodd.

As far as endings or twenty minute stretches go? Easily number one.

Agreed it's tough to compare, but I still seem to remember that one Maryland game where Michael Johnson ended the game with two consecutive sacks as the loudest it's been.

1998 at UGAg will probably always be my favorite game. I was at the fog game, but I was 8 and pretty sure I fell asleep. 2005 Auburn game was ööööing rad (my only game at Old Barn). 2011 Clemson. 2009 VT.

'85 vs Ugag
'98 vs UVA
Gator bowl vs ND
'09 vs VT
'99 vs ugag

Just a few off the top of my head.

I salute guys like you. I've only been following Tech since I was 10 in 1997 but I've always been fascinated by our program's history, the good and the bad, so I've taken it upon myself to know it as best I can from books, videos and stories from folks like yourself. I am in awe of anyone who actually witnessed the 7-6 win over Alabama or the pass-less game against Notre Dame.

This is a great summary of my feelings as well. In fact, my first game was also when I was 10 in 1997.

IMO the win last night was the best overall game I've ever been to. 2009 VT and 2011 Clemson would be close, but the ending yesterday was just incredible.

Have to admit that I grounded myself from flying New Years Day in Desert Shield to watch the Citrus Bowl in 1991. Left U.S. From Norfolk just after watching 1990 UVA in person. That, 1962 Bama 7-6 game (just a kid idolizing Lothridge), and 1999 uga jasper sanks 51-48 game are right up with last night.

Chronological instead of ranked:

1970- Grant Field, GT 30 Navy 8
...First GT game my dad took me to.
1984- Sanford Stadium, GT 35 UGA 18
...Sitting in club level at Sanford Stadium raising hell with my best friend as Tech took a 35-6 lead in the 3rd quarter.
1985- BDS@HGF, GT 20 UGA 16
...Gary Lee KO return in the fog, GT's "bakers dozen" goal line stand.
1991- Florida Citrus Bowl, GT 45 Nebraska 21
...Watching GT win a national championship is something I never thought I would witness. For my dad it was MNC #2.
1999- BDS@HGF, GT 42 Clemson 45
...A loss, but a game I'll never forget.
2006- BDS@HGF, GT 30 Miami 23
...Big game in terms of GT winning the Coastal that year and going to the ACCCG.
2009- BDS@HGF, GT 30 Clemson 27
...Dabo's pooch kick and Tarrant's TD, CPJ's lonesome end.
2009- BDS@HGF, GT 28 VT 23
...Probably my favorite game ever at BDS@HGF.
2009- BDS@HGF, GT 30 WF 27
...JFN TD 4th and Goal from the 1.
2015- BDS@HGF, GT 22 FSU 16
...Probably never see anything quite like that again.

1 - UVa 1990
2 - F$U 2015
3 - uga 1999
4 - Clemson 2004
5 - F$U 2009
6 - Clemson 2009 ACC Championship
7 - UVa 1998
8 - Nebraska Citrus Bowl 1990
9 - ND - 2007 because it was a beatdown

For those of you that have the 1990 Citrus win and MNC crowning game in your list, how is that not your #1? Because we crushed Nebraska like a grape?
