1. Clemson
Clearly the top of the schedule. Their recruiting has gone from consistently good to outstanding under Dabo. Moving him to a CEO type of head coach with top shelf coordinators was just the right move to elevate the program. The only threat to their long term stability are recent questionable financial moves made by the AD.
I would expect a slight drop off post Watson, but that shouldn't be much further than going from competing for the national title to competing for a playoff spot.
2. Miami
They finally have a coach who knows how to use talent. Gone are the days of watch the team get stuffed on 3rd and short while the nations best back watches from the sideline. An aggressive D paired with a prostyle offense has paid dividends elsewhere. Expect a tough outting in lower new jersey.
3. VT
Bud Foster has historically done two things well, coaching defense and getting blackout drunk. Expect him to excel at both this season. His defense was caught flat footed last season by the abrupt change in QB styles. I expect a better gameplan this year.
On offense, choices must be made at QB. CJF will have to decide if he wants the biggest dog in the fight or a slightly less physically imposing starter who has more fight in him.
