1. Clemson
Clearly the top of the schedule. Their recruiting has gone from consistently good to outstanding under Dabo. Moving him to a CEO type of head coach with top shelf coordinators was just the right move to elevate the program. The only threat to their long term stability are recent questionable financial moves made by the AD.

I would expect a slight drop off post Watson, but that shouldn't be much further than going from competing for the national title to competing for a playoff spot.

2. Miami
They finally have a coach who knows how to use talent. Gone are the days of watch the team get stuffed on 3rd and short while the nations best back watches from the sideline. An aggressive D paired with a prostyle offense has paid dividends elsewhere. Expect a tough outting in lower new jersey.

3. VT
Bud Foster has historically done two things well, coaching defense and getting blackout drunk. Expect him to excel at both this season. His defense was caught flat footed last season by the abrupt change in QB styles. I expect a better gameplan this year.

On offense, choices must be made at QB. CJF will have to decide if he wants the biggest dog in the fight or a slightly less physically imposing starter who has more fight in him.

4. Pitt
Excluding the fumble fest 3 years ago, these games have gone to the wire. Expect the offense to take a step back as Pitt must replace several starters as well as the OC. If the football gods are just, we will beat them on a last second 65 yard field goal.

5. UGA
Loaded with wasted NFL talent as usual, the bulldogs aren't an easy game by any means. UGA knows how to win in Atlanta, have Richt coach your team. Unfortunately for the bulldogs, that isn't happening this year. Expect the win streak in Atlanta to end this year.
As a bonus, expect the streak of watching the SECCG from home to continue for a while, bulldog fans.

6. Duke
Probably the best offense in this group, look for the dookies to rebound from a 4 win season last year to a 6 win season this year. D will be an ongoing problem for this team.

1. Clemson - As talented as anybody in the schedule but the coordinators are what set them apart
2. Miami - Again super talented, and Richt is a hurdle we rarely clear
3. UGA - Again super talented, but coaching is a big question mark
--------------------------------------
4. VT - Lost a lot on offense and don't have the recruiting to reload like the teams above. Foster is still Foster
5. Tennessee - Offense lost a lot but should still be decent but defense was horrific last year - injuries or not
6. UNC - Had our number recently
7. Pitt - I can't for the life of me figure out how they've beaten us two years in a row with teams we were better than
---------------------------------------
8. WF - Meh. But less meh than the rest
9. Duke - Cut had his season in the sun and now has them back where they belong
10. JSU - Decent FCS team
11. UVA - They've been really bad. Really, really bad. Maybe Bronco can take a step this year
12. UCF - Hard to put them anywhere else right now

That being said, FSU is probably going to be the best team we play this year.

Let's call this group Ole Miss Coaches in waiting.

7. UNC
Another offense heavy team with a questionable D. Having a complex passing scheme might be a headache for defenses, but with the limited practice times in college, it makes for a rollercoaster when changing QBs. A fast start for unc will start the Ole Miss rumors flying.

8. UT
The once and future champions of life look to another disappointing year in the weakest power conference division since the collapse of the Big East. I've got a soft spot in my heart for any team that is willing to wreck their own program for the joy of firing a Dooley, but honestly what we have here is a less successful version of Pitt. Look for rumors to continue to swirl as CBJ tries to jump to another SEC program with a higher ceiling and a more committed administration.

9. UVA
Bronco is too good a coach to have a repeat of year 1. Unfortunately, he is too good of a coach to stay at the dumpster fire that is uva. If Ole Miss decides to get their program out of the gutter, Bronco could run a clean program and win.

10. Wake
If you like watching a D wilt under a relentless onslaught, look in your mom's bedroom window. Or pick any Wake game from last year. There just isn't enough talent to fill out both sides of the ball.

11. UCF
A tough team at home, but this just isn't their year.

12. Jax State
Best band of the year.

We'd better focus real hard on Tennessee or we'll get our butts kicked. They're going to be real good this year. Probably one of the 2 best teams we play.

If I were a UT DL, I'd smoke weed all summer and get suspended for game 1. That scout team will probably take out some draft picks knee trying to replicate our blocking schemes.

If you're talking about our schedule through September 10th I agree.

Calling out the SEC East and you're in the Coastal? I'm not suggesting it isn't historically down, but you're in the Coastal, not exactly a bunch of world beaters in that division either. I'd say they're pretty much on par with one another. Also, no way in hell is UNC better than Tennessee.

I mean. We did beat half of the SEC East teams just last year. It can't be that good, right?

Let's look at common opponents. How'd y'all do against Vandy last year?

We did pretty terrible. I'm not going to run from that. We beat VT pretty good, you guys beat them by 2 scores on the road. We destroyed UK as we always do, you got them in the bowl, you beat UGA in a tight game, we beat UGA on a prayer. You got blown out by a UNC team who lost to Georgia by 2 possessions. As I said, I can handle criticism of the SEC East, it's not very good. At the same time, neither is the Coastal.

3-0 in the sec east. Want to compare vandy scorelines, former-life champ?

I don't think the Coastal is that great. I think it's still a helluva lot better than the East however.
