Ranking our regular season opponents

I don't think the Coastal is that great. I think it's still a helluva lot better than the East however.

A helluva lot better? How? Where is the large gap between the 2? They're basically mirror images of each other. You beat the division champion by 10 points, so did we. You lost some games you probably shouldn't have, so did we.
There's not much difference in the divisions.

We did pretty terrible. I'm not going to run from that. We beat VT pretty good, you guys beat them by 2 scores on the road. We destroyed UK as we always do, you got them in the bowl, you beat UGA in a tight game, we beat UGA on a prayer. You got blown out by a UNC team who lost to Georgia by 2 possessions. As I said, I can handle criticism of the SEC East, it's not very good. At the same time, neither is the Coastal.

There is a general consensus that the Coastal is much better than the SEC East.

Plus, the ACC is better in general than the SEC the past few years. Both divisions.

It definitely was last year. The ACC has a lot better coaching than the SEC currently. I swear Saban has run everybody off.

Calling out the SEC East and you're in the Coastal? I'm not suggesting it isn't historically down, but you're in the Coastal, not exactly a bunch of world beaters in that division either. I'd say they're pretty much on par with one another. Also, no way in hell is UNC better than Tennessee.
I didn't realize you had actually started posting, welcome. Have you posted your game prediction anywhere? Also curious how you see the rest of your season going.

Thank you, I appreciate the welcome. I haven't posted my game prediction yet. I think it will be a very close game though. I think the more we go through pre-season practice the more or less confident I will be. I think we will be better as a unit on defense, even though we lost Derek Barnett, Cam Sutton at corner and Jalen Reeves-Maybin at OLB. The offense is a question mark because we don't know about our 2 QB's. Our offensive line will be a strength.

As far as overall, I think we could go 10-2 and win the East or 6-6 and Butch gets fired and we end up in Birmingham for a bowl game. I really believe it is that open ended and probably will be somewhere in between.

I can't decide whether I think you guys are going to win the East or fire Butch in October, though I would like to believe the former. Hope you stick around through the game. Are you planning to go?

I would like to go, I went to Bristol last year for the game vs VPI, but with it on a Monday night and a move in the process it's not in the cards. I would love to see the new stadium. It looks pretty awesome.

Question? Everybody always talks about about your offense, I know nothing about your defense. Scheme? Talent? Tendencies? I'm definitely interested to find out more about your D.

I like this guy.

How was the Bristol experience? Too bad about this year though, it should definitely be a great time. As for our defense, someone else is probably in a better position to give you an in-depth look at the squad, but I'm optimistic. We need a couple of guys like Freeman to figure out the secret location of the pocket, but there is enough experience and talent on that side of the ball that I'm more concerned about early season scheming than playing ability. Also, the Austin twins are going to bring this potassium this year, I can feel it.

From Sagarin. The SEC East was hot garbage last year.

Bristol was a great experience, but something that was cool to do once. The logistics were a huge pain in the ass, we didn't get back to our hotel (15 miles away) until 3am. The tailgating, the spectacle were all great, but once was enough. I was very surprised that the Virginia Tech fans talked as much smack as they did. (Not saying Vol fans are above it, far from it)They were chirping big time. I'm not a guy to backdown from a situation , but I wasn't trying to go to the drunk tank either.

I'm sure there will be some stupid things that happen in Atlanta, but for the most part I think those type of things will be limited.
