Refs or not the refs?

Did the refs lose the game for us?

Take away the ND TD caused by a push-off, add back the GT TD called back due to holding, and you get a GT win. But it wouldn't have been a win GT deserved based on quality of play.

The obvious response to the bit about the holding call and whether we'd have deserved it is that our play had improved substantially in that drive and we seemed to have gotten it together. That one was a killer and didn't look like a hold to me.

The sad thing is, if we were playing like we did down the stretch last year we'd have responded by scoring again anyway rather than collapsing like a bunch of broccoli.

The ACC/ND relationship was marred by last years FSU/ND game. ACC officials weren't about to call penalties to keep a "playoff chasing" ND out of the picture.

The boys let the lack of consistency get to the. Our team was held to a different standard. It had a great impact on the game. I think if calls are made evenly our defense was matching theirs and the game is a tossup. But if you tilt it in favor of one side so much...it will get ugly.

Imagine if this was true and there was some smokey room in the back of the ACC headquarters where deals are plotted to drive game outcomes...

In reality we had a couple of bad calls potentially cost us the game. Happens from time to time. I bet it happens more often when you're the visitor than home, though.

Yeah there's way too much integrity in this billion dollar entertainment industry for this sort of massaging to take place.
