Saturday Games Thread

Pretty cool of FSU to paint “E11a Strong” on their stadium wall for Bresse. Right there as he exits the tunnel. There’s not a lot of things like that I find worthwhile, but doing something like that for a guy who just lost his sister to cancer is a hella cool move.

It was a great game and they are both great teams. The one thing I find interesting is the number of penalties Bama is making. Not the first time this year, the Texas game was penalty filled too. Are they being taught to play on the edge, or are they just undisciplined. Not sure I know. Probably a little of both, Any thoughts?

It's a good question. I'm going with undisciplined because they are making coverage mistakes, too.

My thoughts are . . .

(1) They seem to commit pass interference just about every pass. It's like their strategy is to bet that the refs won't want to call it every play so more times than not they'll get away with it. That part seems to be working because even with all thoe penalties, there were still a bunch of plays with pretty blatant interfernce that weren't called.

(2) I feel bad for my poor sister. Her husband is a YUGE lifelong Bama fan from a family of Bama fans. I mean, he has managed to finagle sideline passes to big games, etc. Never misses a game either in person or on TV. And even though he's a really, really, good guy, and would never take it out on her, he's going to be miserable all week and that's not gonna be fun for her.

The Tennessee win was one of those football gods type of wins. Good for them and their fanbase. A fun game to watch. We get a few of these each season. They still won’t be in the SEC champ game while Bama will. So when all is said and done UGA and Bama will be in the playoffs while the Vols will be on the outside. Obviously, I would love for them to beat UGA, but with Kirby having this film for a few weeks they won’t let #11 run free all game. I’m actually very impressed with Bama even with the loss. That atmosphere is tough and if Bama plays them again in the SECCG it won’t be in Knoxville.

Less money for a few years maybe the catalyst for the ACC to disband.

I feel better for a quick dissolution for Tech to have a spot in the P2 than waiting to the end of the GOR, since many of those spots may be taken by then by teams of other conferences
