Yeah but they've got heaters on the sideline, so he'll be nice and toasty when he pulls himself out of the game.Getting hit gonna sting a lot more in the cold.

I disagree with your first sentence. He agreed to play football for GT in return for a free college education and also received NIL money. Accepting the possibility of injury is one of the risks of entering into that arrangement, and Tech would have honored the agreement if something happened that hindered his transfer opportunities. It appears that he quit on his teammates, and dishonored his commitment to play the game.Sims sitting out when he knows he’s transferring makes sense. I’ve got to assume most of you get that.
Not communicating your intentions to at least your HC was dumb. He never seemed like a bad kid, so seems reasonable to chalk it up to immaturity, no?
He was fragile. Why some of you want to see that as a character flaw is beyond me.
He’s got a good chance of finishing strong and getting some draft attention. Again, this would only be good for GT. Him sucking or going down with an injury presents zero upside for us.
Did he decide to transfer in the middle of a game? Did he decide to transfer after dressing out and leaving the locker room? It's fine if you want to transfer and you let the coaches know. I'd prefer they let players sit that want to. But that's just not what Sims did while he was here. To a lesser extent, Gibbs did the same thing in his last game at Tech. He played for like half a quarter then never went back in.Sims sitting out when he knows he’s transferring makes sense. I’ve got to assume most of you get that.

No, I don't think so. I believe scholarships are tax exempt in general.
Also just from a practical standpoint -- some of these players come from bad financial situations and couldn't take what would be a pretty significant tax bill.

You mentioned you don’t know what his thought process was to dress out when he had intention of going into the game. I wonder if one the coaches convinced him to dress out when he really didn’t want to. Maybe it was pressure from his family, but that is doubtful because we all know about his father encouraging him to take the field and he doesn’t. It might have something to do with NIL but I think he still gets that regardless. So the answer maybe is something that even Sims can’t answer himself. The result was a disastrous look that can not be forgotten.Being physically fragile isn't a character flaw. Nor is doing what's in your own best interest as long as you do it in the right way, and that includes shutting it down for the season in my opinion.
But agreeing to be the emergency QB, dressing out, and then refusing to go in when your team needs you, most likely preventing them from going to a bowl -- I don't know what his thought process was, but that was a really bad thing to do and I'm not surprised lots of fans will not be rooting for him to succeed.
It's fair to chalk it up to immaturity, and lots of people are immature when they're young, but that doesn't change what happened or absolve him of the consequences (in this case fans of his former team not liking him.)
I disagree with every sentence in his entire ööööing post, except that Sims is fragile.I disagree with your first sentence. I can't agree with this portion of your post if that is true. Nope, I don't get that at all.Sims sitting out when he knows he’s transferring makes sense. I’ve got to assume most of you get that.
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha good one.
I assume you are talking about the UVA game. I was not there. Do we know this to be true? If so, this would be a non-starter for me if I were the HBC of a team he was looking to transfer to. Is this verified?Being physically fragile isn't a character flaw. I think he's very similar to Anthony Richardson, the Florida QB who just got drafted 4th in the NFL. I'd like him to find success, even if did quit at Tech.
Only the amount of the scholarship that wasn't used for school would be taxable. Basically you can't take scholarship money and spend it on whatever you want.My oldest grandson had a scholarship, partial I think,to an out of state school. Tax time rolled around and it was found to be taxable. Sharp spoke in the learning curve!
I’m not a Sims hater like most here but I still would want a good backup.
I think Nebraska’s quarterback room needs a renovation.I assumed Nebraska had a good QB room and that would be good for Sims and Nebraska. Now it seems it is Sims job and that puts Rhule in a risky place.

Rhule might rue the day he took that recommendation from Collins.
