State of College Football….

I was wandering about the economic impact to schools (and communities) that are left out of the big mergers. Does this not enter into monopolies and business that crosses state lines which is a federal issue? Could the big mergers be stopped by Congress along those lines?

Why would you drop out based on what conference we are in? I don’t understand that at all. Your decision, of course.

We did win all the marbles barely 10 years after joining the ACC. Just pointing it out.

Like I said, I’m not interested in watching us play a bunch of no-name schools.

I’m sure Cincinnati grads are thrilled to watch the Memphis game. It’s a big deal for them, but I’m used to something…better.

I wouldn't do it myself, but I actually sympathize with what he says. What pleasure or excitement would there be in playing some of the schools in those other conferences, even it they were located relatively close to Atlanta? Those opponents certainly wouldn't add fans in the stands, and we probably WOULD become just a memory. The only two schools that MIGHT offer some interest or excitement would be Ga Southern and Ga State, and I have no desire at all to see us play Ga State.

Good question, but one I doubt that Congress would take time to answer

I apologize for completely misreading your post. Somehow missed that by “other” conferences you meant other than the B1G/SEC. In which case I can definitely see your point. We have FOUR national championships and are not interested in the minor league circuit.

Yes, but it's likely harder to convince one person to put down $1 million for a player than it is to convince a couple thousand fans to put down a couple hundreds.
That may be so, but these programs aren’t buying players on the back of Billy Bob riding up in his F150 and throwing in a $50
