Suddes gone....

Upon further reflection, I am starting to wonder if the loss of Suddes might have an impact on our football recruiting similar to the effect of the loss of Pastner's "right hand man" had on our basketball recruiting.

Crap. How the hell did we end up here?

I think if the wins come next year, recruiting will be just fine. If not, we are starting over, so who knows.

anybody else notice that the director of applied sports science (Ryan Horton) and the social media specialist (Alex Brizendine) also have exited stage left?

I really wanted to believe that we’d be on the cutting edge of sports science as befits a premiere technological university, but unfortunately, I never got a sense that it went any deeper than “look how fast our gunners run!”

No worries, pretty sure we can find some GT alum who knows something about whatever that is for half the price.

They become AD's at Tech. We now have three AD's that should be in the bad AD hall of shame.

This is what happens when you can’t recognize an actual good, possibly great, AD.

Unfortunately Clemson had no such issues.

We instead were whining about not having “Tech men”.

Last time the program had a down turn, I was able to upgrade seats. Hope this time I can have another opportunity to upgrade. There’s not many of us that are gonna persevere thru this mess Stansbury created.

I’ll give you this advice. We don’t play the mutt this year so demand is going to plummet. I know it’s throwing money away, but look at it like opportunity. You move up now when others are headed to the exits, when we oust the losers here we’ll rebound & you’ll be glad you got better seats.

College football is over. Especially if you’re not the top 8 teams in the SEC and part of a handful of other teams.

But I suspect people are gonna spend a lot of money and days of their lives before they’re able to accept their reality.

This has been true for years. NIL has only accelerated it.

I do think it’s possible for the pendulum to swing back, though it may take years. Its like the Wild West right now. haven’t thought it all the way through, but I suspect at some point the “ncaa” will want parity. So they’ll impose new rules on recruiting, whether it’s a draft or something similar. If the distance between the haves and have nots continues to grow, it’s also possible some of the money will dry up and many of the schools will go back to student athlete approach. That would take a lot of schools operating in the red at the same time.

I have no problems with what A&M has done (my understanding is they’ve simply decided to pay top recruits). They’ve accepted the changing landscape and lack of any real rules regarding paying players, and they’ve acted accordingly. Personally, any school that isn’t doing this is idiotic if their game plan is to win. I fully expected GT to hire at least 1 person with the sole job of finding willing people to pay players.

I assume the three ADs in question are Braine, Bobinski, and TStan, not DRad.

I’ve been going to games for almost 5 decades. There’s up and downs. That being said, some people like the teams that always win. Never been one of those types myself. I kinda like the nerdy geeks from GT figuring out how to beat the great team. Problem we have now is we went from being able to pull it off to no chance in 3 years. Sad.

Secondly, SEC was almost pure dwagshit when I was growing up. Alabama plus a couple of the kids like LSU, UT and USCe nipping at their heels. Big 10, PAC-10 and Big 8 plus Notre Dame ruled the day. Things will come back around eventually.

GT just needs to get back to hard nosed physical football and put the dancing shoes away.
