Really? I mean, really? The only players that could of declared for this draft were from the class of 09 and earlier. Lets take a short tour through the details of that potential pool of players. The people before the 08 class had nothing to do with PJ from a recruiting standpoint, none whatsoever. The 2008 class was mostly recruited by Gailey, but a handful were recruited by Johnson.
So then the ones we're really talking about here are the few in the 2008 class, that PJ had a couple months at most to round up, and the 2009 class. So what was the word on Georgia Tech for most of that period of recruitment? The word was that we were going to be a flaming pile of cow dung, we were gonna win 3 games in 2008, two over FCS. That leaves the five months of the football season and after til signing day of publicity that wasn't entirely negative, and even then it didn't go from mild surprise (outside of actual GT fans) to respect til we beat Georgia. So that gave us two months of people outside of the circle of Georgia Tech fans who thought Paul Johnson was worth a ----.
Also, 14 of that 2009 class (would be 15 with Burnett) are going to see a lot of playing time this year and only 3 of them will be graduating. But yeah, no way 11 players could get into the NFL draft 2 years away.
What this draft really means is that the last remainder of the 2007 class either weren't that good or weren't NFL type (Roddy) and the 2008 class (made up of the Gailey's that didn't jump ship and the handful PJ could get amidst a crapton of negative recruiting) weren't NFL material (Uzzi is a maybe).
