Taquon played like a warrior tonight

The outside is consistent money in the bank. Cutting back inside is gambling 1 yard versus 20 yards. Both have thier place, but long sustaining drives needs consistency over hit or miss.

Plus his speed has gotten a few touch downs and first downs. I’ll take the 4 to 8 yards over the chance for 20 and getting the 0 to 1.

I'm with DanT - the Orange Bowl gets my vote, due to the quality of the defense we ass-raped in that game plus the stage itself of an NY6 bowl.

Im ok with others having differing opinions...I just am not factoring in any of the stage, significance, etc of the game. It’s probably one if the most unexpected outcomes I can remember in CPJs tenure as well.

Agreed, I actually kind of hate it when our guys try to cutback. Watching your RB voluntarily stop all his own momentum, then get tackled at the point of impact, is really frustrating. Pretty rarely is the RB able to accurately gauge whether the cutback is there or not. Usually they think they're a lot faster/shiftier than they are. Use your momentum to your advantage, take the contact, and pick up an extra yard or two.

Agreed. Even if you do cut back and beat the first tackler or two, the guys who got cut on the backside at the line of scrimmage are usually pursuing and will catch up to the play.

Save the cutbacks for when you get downfield and need to beat a guy to turn a long run into a TD.

Textbook shiftiness.

That's a weird way to post a video of the shiftiest running back of all time:

Cottrell actually reminds me more of a Walter Payton type. If he has the choice of going out of bounds or hitting the defender for an extra yard, he's going to hit the defender.

See everyone goes for Bo Jackson in Techmo Bowl but Barry always seemed faster to me :dunno:

Seems like the late pitch was back and very effective. It's been a long time since I've seen our A-backs maintain pitch relationship or that our QB was looking for it.
