Is he known for being a better passer or mobile running type of qb? both?

TB is a white QB. 'Nuff said. The game plan should change to allow more pocket protection from the line.

Are you serious? Have you ever watched a GT game? Have you seen TB play?

Geetee, expect a lot of wishbone. Let your friends know.

Po' old Geetee is too focused on anything bad he can hang on Gailey to know anything about the #2 (now #1) QB.

Here, Geetee, I'll tell you what I know about Tater....

He was not recruited by many college football powers, but he did almost take an offer from Fresno State instead of GT. If I recall correctly he only played football for one year in high school, so he must have some natural talent.

He's always had a strong arm, but not all that accurate, however, according to people I know that attended practices, his accuracy has consistantly improved, especially in the preseason practices this season.

Not considered to be a running threat, his strength and what has brought him favor with the coaches is that he is a student of the game. He studies film and the offense with the intensity that an chinese exchange student studies calculus. He knows the playbook and all its variations as well as any of the coaches. He not only knows what he's supposed to do and where he's supposed to be on the field, he knows what all the others on offense are supposed to be doing. He studies the defenses as well, but can he read the D during games? The times he's played hasn't really challenged him in that area.

From my seats behind the GT bench, he always looked like a skinny little kid that grew up too fast, until this past year. He grew up and filled out. He looks like a football player, now.

It's his team now, for at least one game. And I'm looking forward to seeing him.

"Are you saying Jesus Christ can't hit a curve ball?"

I think he's saying White Men Can't Jump.

I love it, the expert on everything, Geetee doesn't know anything about our backup QB? Priceless.

:laugher: :laugher: :laugher:

Why would anyone who isn't a TECH fan know anything about our QB depth? I would only expect TECH people to know our depth chart enough to discuss its' potential.

Like Eric Crouch? Or more like the Arkansas QB a couple of years ago that ended up WR in the pros? How bout Steve Young? What is your definition of WHITE QB? I know a few that would make RB look like CCG in the open field.

Sounds like the perfect job description for a Georgia Tech quarterback based on successful results from the past.

GeeTee was just kidding by the way.

Steve Young? Really? You want to use him as the great white hope? Why not throw in Brett Favre while you're at it? The fact of the matter is that 90% of white QB's are pocket QB's while 90% of black QB's are mobile QB's. If that's a problem for you, talk to God about it since He made us this way.

God had nothing to do with it, running sprints does. And oh thats right up until a week ago the record for rushing yards by a QB in the NFL was held by (drum roll) a white dude. There have been amazing running QB's in college both black and white. There have been amazing passing QB's in college both black and white. White people are 15 times more likely to be literate on this earth, did god make white people that way also ? Please.

Back to the subject, having played some hoop with Tb over the summer I can say he is a big boy. If he isn't mobile then maybe he can take a sack and hold the ball.

Look man, all I'm saying is that don't put a Steve Young and a Chris Chandler in the same "white guy QB" category. I agree that TB is a pocket passer, but don't stereotype a white guy making the most of his feet when he has to. I have no problem saying that most black QB's are much quicker and don't fall in the "pocket passer" category. It is not such a black and white issue with athletes, pardon the pun. I do have a problem with disrespect from someone who disagrees with me. I am smarts enoughs to know the difference between a white/black athlete. I just choose to look in more detail to see the differences in ALL atheletes.
