Our women's big boobs get in the way of their backswings.Yet they have not stepped up to fund soccer teams. I also wonder why we do not have a women's golf team.

The period from now until August will be interesting. As Spring practices end the dominant teams with significant NIL resources will be looking for potential solutions for injuries and performance issues they identified. They will recruit from the lower level teams and they will push out any player they no longer want or need. The one positive for the new transfer rule is that anyone who transfers in will be reluctant to transfer again and lose a year.Lost one player so far you mean.
I hope you are right. I am skeptical at this point, but it is too early to know how it will play out.

Republicans taking care of really matters first. Why would the State of Tennessee legislature spend their time trying to pass legislation like this?
There are a lot sports missing at GT, men and women.Yet they have not stepped up to fund soccer teams. I also wonder why we do not have a women's golf team.
The transfer portal closes on May 1st, so they only have until then to leave Tech. It re-opens on August 1st.They can leave any time. But that doesn’t mean they can be rostered immediately depending on timing of the 85 at their new destination. For instance, a GT player could leave GT today, go somewhere else but if they are full he could redshirt till 2023.
Folks gotta simply accept that the money in sports is so life changing that individuals are making decisions based on what is in their best financial benefit. It’s not wrong. It’s what I would want my son to do if he were in that once in a lifetime position. Take a kid like Kevin Parada right now. He has played himself into a top tier (maybe top 10) overall pick depending on who needs a catcher. If he were to come up with a phantom hammy I couldn’t blame him. The ball field in all sports are littered with career ending injuries before the money is made. Remember Marcus Lattimore. Dude was a beast and lost millions playing for free.
Players are going to go where they believe they put themselves in the best position. But like most decisions in life the vast majority of people make stupid illogical decisions which lead to poor results. We see this already in the portal with players leaving and have no landing spot. But that is life and I’m not giving up a past time I enjoy because of 20 year old decisions. I’m gonna do what I always do on Saturdays in the fall - 1) schedule my day around the GT game, 2) review the schedule for when the other big games are, 3) get my to do list and workout done early so I can watch GT and then watch the other appealing games as well. Heck, y’all are worried about the portal yet I’m just hoping our starting QB actually plays week to week.
I was talking the obvious that any player or student can leave any time. If a GT player wanted to leave GT on May 2 and enroll at Clemson for the summer he could. He may not be considered part of the football program but no one cares about rules anymore. The use of the term “portal” is just a meaningless idea anyways. There really isn’t a portal that players enter. It’s just a list. But players are free people who can leave anytime. With the spring semester ending the first week of May the May 1 deadline is just more NCAA kabuki theatre. The transfer portal closes on May 1st, so they only have until then to leave Tech. Yeah, that’s not true at all. If a player doesn’t want to sit for the following year, they have to follow certain rules. You’re not basing any of your statements off of facts:I was talking the obvious that any player or student can leave any time. Additionally, a student-athlete must provide their current school with a written request to enter the NCAA Transfer by May 1 if they participate in a fall or winter sport, or July 1 if they participate in a spring sport to use the one-time exception. Other rules (e.g., disciplinary suspension at the previous school, transferable credits accepted by your new school, sport specific midyear transfer rules) may also factor into the campus compliance administrator’s certification of transfer eligibility. Can a player transfer at any time or is there a window?
