Give Gibson another chance. The OL sucked, stupid penalties got in his way, bad field position, etc....he's young and new, he deserves another chance. And he may get it next week.

It was cute while it lasted, but his OL is still hot garbage and it's clear our offense is wholly dependent on Sims overcoming their ineffectiveness.

Not much to say about Gibson other than that I hope he capitalizes on the chance for a Tech degree, and starts taking a good hard look at life after football.
His life after football should start tonight.

I won’t start a new thread on this board. I know my place. But this book should be required reading of all HS and FBS QB’s from an NFL Hall of Famer: “8: QB

No.

He has 18, 19, 20 year olds and nervousness competing against 21- 22 year olds DTs and DE’s.

Big difference in muscle mass, weight. Give it time. That line will grow like it did under Ross and O’Leary.
He’s been failing for four years now. So no Mrs. Key….I’m sorry, he will not be wearing a headset in P5 after the end of this year.

Gibson flashed some talent on his first drive and his last drive. Problem was the middle was about as bad as possible. Literally negative yards.

They need to make a decision early this week so he can prepare as a starter if Sims can't go. Can't have Sims take first team reps, play a quarter, and leave again.

Problem is we can’t expect Sims to ever play a complete game. He gets dinged up pretty easy. I’m not hating him for that nor calling him soft. Looked bad for his legs when he got drug down. He’s just not very rugged.

No, we definitely can't. The fact that we dont have even close to a serviceable backup QB is even more unacceptable because of that.

People were bitching that we weren't getting backup QBs reps earlier in the season when games were out of hand, and we saw the consequences of that tonight.

I'm not sure Sims even cares about being on the field. The way he plays at times and watching him walking around the sideline like he didn't care all that much about anything going on around him.

Gibson looked like the jv kid being thrown in after the varsity starter (and probably his varsity backup) got knocked out. He's clearly (very) limited in arm strength and control. I have no desire to watch that again.

Was wrong to credit Key so much for the last two wins, and is wrong to blame him too much for this one. Is it his fault we only have one serviceable QB? It's not really his team or staff beyond the OL. To me this game just dispels any idea that he is some miracle worker
