That's my coach, Part Two

It's really refreshing to see some emphasis on Tech and Tech traditions. I actually like some of the ATL/404 stuff, but it absolutely needs to be balanced with our history and tradition, and there's no reason players to think players wouldn't get on board with that stuff. We have an awesome fight song, regardless of when it was written.

Make a full loop of the field in the Wreck when we take the field. For some reason, the Wreck drives onto the field and straight to the SW corner.

One more thing, being a classic car guy. About 2PM the wreck club had the Wreck parked on Bobby Dodd on the steep hill outside the power/steam plant - not chocked, facing downhill. Both dad and I almost simultaneously were like "wow, not chocked. That's dangerous". It is a really steep hill.

Do not EVER trust an old car with mechanical drum brakes on a hill like that. You need to get some chocks under those tires. That car, with folks leaning on it or touching it, could easily break loose. That gear won't do a damn thing and once it gets rolling those brakes are useless unless someone gets in and applies pedal pressure. That is an accident waiting to happen, possibly fatal, when it rolls down that hill at 45 MPH through the crowd on Bobby Dodd Way.

I never park the '64 Ranchero on a steep hill if I don't have to, and if I do, I have 2 rubber chocks. My dad has a '64 Econoline pickup and his is always chocked on hills. Both non powered drum brakes.

Anyway, my $0.02. I know 'Reck Club members are young, but parking the Wreck like that should be a huge no-no. It is not a modern vehicle. If it breaks loose, at best, we have a totalled Wreck. At worst, folks get hurt or killed.

/Off my soapbox.

I was down below the stands with my two oldest kids right before the game. We got to see the players and coaches come out of the locker room to go do stretches and practices on the field. After a couple of players came out, Key came out by himself. We all recognized him and gave him a big applause. He looked over at us and had the most satisfied grin on his face. The best way to describe it was like he was feeling, “Hell yeah, this is my team, my school, and my people”.

I’m really hoping he keeps winning and proves he’s the right man for the job. I was really down on him like everyone else for the poor performance of our O-line the last couple of years. Now it’s different. From what he’s said and done so far the last couple of weeks, you can’t help but cheer him on. He’s one of us and it’s always awesome to see a fellow Tech grad succeed.

Just win baby

You know I'm right. The guys on the Hill don't want some dude throwing F-bombs representing the school at multiple millions per year. It was only 3 weeks ago people were sending letters to Cabrera arguing that football is the public image of the school. It was a slip up for a young coach; not a showstopper. Note that he has been more professional at his pressers.

If Key wants to be a head coach, he needs to quit dropping F-bombs in public. I can understand him getting carried away; but that's not the image major programs want.

Jump out of your bubble now and then and visit the real world.

Being a head coach in the P5 is it's own world. Note how many coaches are caught dropping F-bombs every week. Become known as the guy who drops F-bombs where you work and see how far up you rise....in the real world.

Has the team stopped singing Ramblin Wreck with the band after wins?

GO JACKETS!!
byteback
No. They came down and sang Ramblin Wreck with the band after the win. It was a bit helter skelter since there were so many people on the field congratulating people, etc but I'd say at least 80% or more came down immediately. Pretty much all of them were there singing by the latter half of the song.

Most passion I've seen from Tech fans in quite some time and it was refreshing. There were 2 or 3 young ladies behind us who were doing one hell of a good job leading the "Refs you suck" cheer for several plays after that BS roughing the passer call. And the whole stadium was booing between every play for probably 8 - 10 plays. Was nice to see people giving a damn and I have to imagine the players were appreciating it as well.

Said the coach who was run off.
Quit. Get it right. He quit.
Johnson is gone. Get over it.

And it ain't like Key walked up to an ESPN mike and started yelling "öööö yeah!" into the reporter's mike. Someone caught it on a damn microphone on what was probably a cell phone. I was there and saw him pumping his fist and loved it. Wasn't close enough to hear him (news flash: neither were anyone else in the stands) but I wouldn't have been offended even if I had heard it.

I also have two rubbers I use when I’m with your mom. And a paper bag for her.

I didn't bring up Johnson. Johnson quit because the AD who just got fired didn't support him, he was being run off. All I'm saying is Key needs to be more careful because the dumbasses on here will make it into a thread. He can drop F-bombs in practice all he wants; but he needs to be more guarded in public.

I get it. But it's not like he was up at a podium in front of the Press. It was an organic release of energy WITH FANS right after an overtime win we haven't seen at Dodd in far far too long. I'm willing to give him a pass on that one. That little tweet might be some of the better free recruiting "press" we've seen in awhile. Kids want to play for guy authentically vested, and that was authentic.
