The ACC

So tOSU being ranked behind a team in PSU (who they beat @ PSU) makes sense to you?

The CFP committee got the right 12 teams in, no idiot sec fan can legitimately argue otherwise at this point.

That said, we’re about to see the B1G/sec strong arm the ACC, B12, G5. And you know in the end, the ACC, B12, G5 will accept the change to the seeding format. They really have no choice at this point. If not, the B1G, sec + ND could then take their ball and create NFL lite. That really would be the death knell of the ACC, B12 and CFB as we know it.
I think we can both agree that Penn St was overranked to quite a large extent. Would also note that in the format you are suggesting, they would be a team with a bye based on the rankings, over Ohio St and as well as conference champs.

As to the bold part, they should just ööööing do it already. Kind of tired of this slow decay toward the exact same outcome and whether it's sooner or later I think it will be a crappier product than what came before. Probably not crappy enough to fail, but to not be the huge windfall the people running there think it would be. It'll put to the test how much people will watch games they have 0 connection to, versus now where there's at least a hypothetical one.

Meh... Most of the losses were close. It's just the way the dice come up sometime.

Pitt lost in 6OT. Miami lost by 1 because their QB and coach have no balls. UNC had its coach fired and had no business playing in a bowl. Etc. We got screwed by the refs.

Did you see the record of the once proud hoops conference ACC vs the sec this year? It’s downright pathetic. ACC is 2-14.

Sankey made it a point to upgrade hoops, and somehow just like that, quickly passed the ACC in a blink of an eye. Admittedly I quit watching CBB, NBA combined with MLB (who the hell even watches postseason at this point?) within the last decade due to how boring they’ve become. But I still can’t believe how far the ACC has fallen in hoops.
An FSU fan would say it’s because of football TV money.

an abysmal 1-9 record in bowl games this year.....................................sigh

The "one" thing the members of the ACC could use to hang their hats on was, that the ACC was it was the premier basketball conference from top to bottom, and now that is just a memory.

The last time I remember the ACC being relevant in football was 1990, the same year GT won the MNC as voted by the UPI. There were several good to great teams in the ACC in 1990 and it showed in the bowl games the ACC teams participated in.
Louisville won…so 2 wins….ill hang up and listen

Seems like the ranking doesn’t matter that much at all.

They should re-seed the teams based on strength of schedule, record against common opponents, points for/against, etc.

There’s this whole computer model that can do everything that the “eye test” has failed to do.

How quickly we forget that the BCS really worked pretty well. Perhaps we harmonize all the good pieces of all these different playoff models and actually make something attractive.

Regardless of the outcome there will never be 100% acceptance. The internet and social media have created a culture that leads people to complain about mundane things and play victim.

So in the end it really doesn’t even matter.
Make it interesting by reseeding after every round

probably OK to seed differently.
12 or 16 don't matter to me.
Eliminating all home field games for playoffs(like NCAAT bb) would be a good move too.
lol. In other words, sec teams will all be ranked in the top 5. Whatever with everyone else. Wholeheartedly disagree with getting rid of home playoff games. That is a huge carrot and also maybe one of the lone remaining uniquely cool things in CFB. It’s otherwise nba-lyte

Makes sense. A bunch of games that weren't blowouts one way or the other.
You can’t really say the viewership was about us, per se, but we did benefit from playing some highly ranked teams that people like to root against (FSU, Miami, ND, Dwags) in some good time slots with limited competition from other games.

The fact that we usually made a good showing in those opportunities is good for us to start to rebuild our brand. We just need to keep building and not stumble.

It made complete sense considering OSU lost to a really bad Michigan team.

PSU didn’t lose to any team as bad as Michigan.
You realize the “bad” Michigan team beat the likely MNC in tOSU and the team eSECpn’s whined about getting screwed out of the CFP in Alabama back to back right?

8-5 isn’t great, but I bet no Michigan fan gives two EFFs about the final record today after who they have beaten the last 6 weeks.
