The CW is taking over for Bally's

But ACC games won't be national on CW correct?

“We are thrilled to be adding The CW to our weekly television lineup for ACC football and basketball games,” said ACC commissioner Jim Phillips, Ph.D. “The CW’s national distribution will directly benefit our student-athletes, teams, alumni and fans. We appreciate ESPN and Raycom working together and look forward to the partnership with The CW.”

Sounds like the games will be broadcasted nationally on CW to me!

Methinks national distribution != National coverage for GT or the ACC

The ACC’s recent TV deal with The CW Network comes into the picture. The ACC got a small amount of revenue from the deal, but it will get a noticeable boost in exposure. That was the play. The move was more about the exposure side than the revenue side.

Pac-12 columnist John Canzano, at his Substack, commented on the ACC-CW deal:

“It was a distribution play by the ACC. It solved an ongoing visibility problem for that conference and will sprinkle a little revenue over the members,” Canzano wrote. “Everyone in America can get the CW. The network will broadcast 50 football and basketball games a year until 2026-27. Next season, the CW will air 13 football games, 28 men’s basketball games, and nine women’s basketball games. It will sweeten the revenue pot a little, but it was more of an exposure move.

No, it just means the CW is found all over the nation.
It'll be the local CWs carrying the games. I'd be surprised if the CW affiliate in Bakersfield is carrying Tech-South Carolina State, for instance.

It'll be the CWACCGOTW.

The CW is the equivalent of Dollar General
Have you ever driven through most of GA? Dollar Generals are everywhere, & most of the time the only store people have outside of the high population areas.

So essentially, Tech games will be easily accessible for everyone now. Sounds like a W to me.

David Perdue thought being the CEO of Dollar General made him important enough to be a United States Senator. One time it did, the last time it didn’t.

The new CW affiliate in Atlanta will be channel 17, WPCH-TV. the attached link even mentions ACC football and basketball.

Yeahbut pretty sure there is that one square mile in the US where CW is not available. Goes back to a treaty signed in the early 1500s. If you zoom into that sq mile real close, there’s only one house in it. 1982Jacket lives in it.
LMAO! I would have thought so. But no, WDCW 50 aka The CW is available right here in the Black Hole where I live, and I can mosdef get it with my most excellent rooftop antenna. AND it is also on YouTubeTV to which I subscribe. :heelclick:

I'm so happy I could kiss Jim Philips, Ph.D., who's still a douchebag, but at least he got the job done here. Good job, douchebag!

This is pathetic imo

No need for the imo. It's just plan pathetic. But better than Bally. The ööööing PAC-12 is disbanding, but even that öööö conference has like ten channels available on my streaming service.

The CW is the equivalent of Dollar General

Ewwww! The Dollar General is literally the dirtiest and lowest of all the Dollar outfits. Family Dollar > Dollar Store > Dollar General

Can't find it on my guide. And I never had any problem finding Bally.
I guess the investment in the digital antenna might pay off after all.

There is no such thing as a "digital" antenna.

If you can't get an antenna to watch the cw, then message me. I think every Tech fans deserves to be able to watch the game, but after I ridicule you for not being able to get a real or rig up a free antenna, you might want to disassociate yourself which is okay by me.

This is Lincoln log level of engineering here. I consider this survival of the fittest.

LMFAO! If you can't figger out how to hook up an antenna for your TV . . .

So will this be on YouTube TV?

Not looking forward to changing out the antenna.

Might depend on where you live. My local CW affiliate WDCW 50 shows up on my YouTubeTV program guide . . . but Lord knows I never watched a single thing on that channel before.

Jim Phillips, Ph.D. Whenever I see some dude put "Ph.D." behind his name, I'm pretty sure I'm dealing with a douchebag. Same for J.D. or "Esq." M.D. is perfectly fine. You want to go with Dr., OK - even though it can be misleading if you're not a MEDICAL doctor.

Solid logic. LOL.

Dollar General rocks.

Again, Family Dollar > Dollar Store > Dollar General. This is not really debatable.

There is no such thing as a "digital" antenna.

If it picks up the digital channels, then it is a digital antenna.
And I know the guy who builds most of the Dollar Generals. He's made a killing doing it.

So by that spectacular logic, the cable that connects the antenna to the F-connector coax jack on the TV is a "digital cable." In fact, and F-connector is a digital connector! :rotfl: And the electrical power cord which connects the wall socket to the TV which shows the programs which it received on the digital channels via the digital antenna, is a digital power cord.

Did you used to work for Circuit ööööty?

I'm happy for the dude. The stores are still sewers. Not his fault - management doesn't seem to give a öööö.
