the end is near...

We wouldn’t be competing with anyone for notable coaches if we fire him. We’re basically hiring a really old “program stabilizer” type coach for 3-4 years or taking a big time flyer on an up comer who wants to skip being a coordinator for a shot to prove himself at a P5 level. For either hire it would be someone cheap
That don’t make no sense.

That don’t make no sense.
It makes perfect sense.
Tennessee is a cash cow compared to Georgia Texh who has NO MONEY to pay a big time coach—-and it took Tennessee 2 months to find someone gullible enough to take their HC job at a fire dumpster that could be a career ending move.
Our program is 5 years in the rebuilding MINIMUM. Good luck finding anyone to take that job—And I will say it again. Even if we could find that someone we cannot afford to pay them.

Georgia Tech football is in the worst position it’s been in in over 30 years.

What didn’t make no sense to me was the poster’s desire that we hire an unproven up and coming G5 coach. Isn’t that what we have now?

Sorry yeah, I didn't really finish that thought. But yes, it seems apparent to me that the flaw in the program begins in the head and extends to the appendages. Before today, I'd have said let's amputate and rebuild, but I am no longer sure there's a decent chance that will help anything.
The fish rots from the head down. Problem is at GT, is the head of the fish the AD or the HC or someone else? Either way, cut the head off now please.

Up and coming doesn’t mean we have to hire someone with 2 years experience.
and we have a proven coach now, he has proven that he isn’t good at it.

Dude. A lot of us took a train to the game today. That means that we were basically a captive audience through the end of the game. A ton of Tech fans left in the early second and went and sat in bars or went and tailgated with random ND fans. No one really cared that much on the train to bitch about it either. It was a lot of DGAF, where’s the alcohol?

Not sure how your car back was, but ours was a big party. A ton of fun, and barely any talk about the game at all.

Only time it came up was to discuss how if we had stayed in it, or looked mediocre, the mood would be much worse, but we're just so incredibly bad that no one really cared, as you said.

It's worse than anger or unreasonable expectations, it's apathy. Complete and total apathy from people who are dedicated enough to fly to Chicago to watch a 3 win team play.

And that’s when a program is in trouble. If you’re mad, you still care. When apathy sets in, that is a death knell. TDope gotta figure out soon whether or not it will cost more to keep him or fire him.

That’s exactly what it was. We’re you on the train with the dancing waiter and singing Devil Went Down to GA?

I think the UGA game is a blowout and Collins is fired after. I hate it, but I don't see it being closer than ND. I think it finally tips the big money and we fix this mess.

Go ahead and do it. Maybe it’ll light a fire under some players. There’s no reason to delay unless it’s money.
