Transfer portal is suddenly our huge friend for the right guy. What would have been a typical four year rebuild can now be done in 1-2.

I’m thinking Chadwell. He’s a solid hire.

We are still in the ACC. And that is an easy conference to win with the right hire—reference WF.

The equally important hire is the AD. They are going to need to pull some super magic and get us to the B1G.

The ACC will get raided in the next 3 years and go basketball like the old Big East and abandon football, because it is, and always has been controlled by The North Carolina mafia.

I know GT will never hire another triple option coach, so Monken is out. I think Chadwell would be a good choice. I would personally throw the bank at Clawson.

Deion would never thrive at an academic school. Urban ain't interested in a rebuild.
 
Cignetti has an impressive resume; but he is too old. Now is the time for GT to hire a black coach. If Deion won't come then hire another coach who is a) black and b) not getting mail from AARP.

Everybody gets an 'A' at GT now. I don't think the academics are the hurdle it was back when Curry & Ross were our coaches.

Make it Todd Monken and it’s a decent list. I’d reorder them significantly, but not a bad list.
 
dream, budget, right: any non-triple option (flexbone) offensive genius

I'd take any young offensive mind even if that means we're a stepping stone as long as he trains his replacement.

Would probably agree if we can afford him. He's getting paid more than Huff, Sanders, Chadwell, and Jeff.. I am hoping the coaching search is very public because I can't imagine the state of things if they do a left field hire in quiet that doesn't appease the fan base

Huff and McGee look interesting. I didn't really know about either one of them.
 
Huff is probably getting a ton of looks because of how Marshall beat Norte Dame. I know McGee is one of the most highly rated recruiters in the country.
 
We need a reputable head coach who has already had some success at the P5 level.
A no nonsense guy who will have team discipline.
avoid repeating our and others mistakes of the past by skipping over coordinators or G5 candidates.
there are a number of them especially considering last year's turnover.
others have already mentioned some good ones to consider......
....avoiding Key would be a great start but an interim buys time so maybe OK
