THE OFFICIAL Firing, House Cleaning, Night of Long Knives, Celebration, Disappointment Thread.

I don't know anything about Football or coaching or the internal dyamics of the team or what needs to be done.

All I know is that there has been NOTHING in the last three years to make me think anything will change.

I will HATE Clown Shoes for a long time, maybe forever. He has killed my love of GT football, so much so that I will not pass that love on to my kids. He could win a Natty next year and I will still call him an incompetant snake-oil salesman.
Sounds like you’re trying to outclown him. Are douchebag posts the norm here now? I was wrong to tell Rules to stop cussing people out, some of you need to be shaken and slapped a dozen times for recalibration.

I had Wendy’s spicy chicken sandwich today and I must say it hits number 2 spot under cfa spicy chicken, may even be a contender. Definitely better than Popeyes.

Agree with 1982Jacket above re: commitment to GT vs GT sports, couple thoughts: Most of the top 10% of my daughter's n. Atlanta h.s. are Asian-Americans (not Asian), many will want to go to GT or will at least apply to GT as a safety school. Most don't worry much about football. I do wonder who the big money alums will be over the coming decades - will current students turn into AA supporters?

Research money is the focus - keeps engineering faculty from leaving, keeps us in the top 10% academically among engineering schools. Having a great football team draws more applicants, not stronger applicants. Maybe Bama is the exception, but they had lots of room for upside. Football helps Clemson because it's a hick town. GT is looking for 1500+ SAT types on the upside. Anyway, GT is more like Vandy attitude and values-wise, so that's a challenge for us who like football and think it's cool being a nerd school with some normal college things like football.

So you’re saying Asians killed GT.

Fans of Georgia Tech >>>>>>>>> Fans of Georgia Tech Football
This is a damn FB msg board, take that bullshyt above and go stick it somewhere!

40 yrs ago GT and uga recruited different players, guys like Meat Cleaver Weaver or pulpwood Smith couldn't be recruited by Curry, but now maybe 70% of uga's 2 deep could get admitted to GT as FB recruits, 100% of Michigan's 2 deep could get admitted to GT as FB players, same for ND, same for BC.

Academics stop being an issue in the early 2000s, Mgt Majors no longer take the same calculus as everyone else, they no longer take Biology or Chemistry, they take Earth Science instead, now we have an HST Major, and a Communications Major.

Fans like you ARE THE FRIGGIN' PROBLEM!

GT Fans criticize every other aspect of this State outside of GT and then expect those People to financially support GT Athletics!

Guess what, when you criticize the educational systems, all those School Teachers & HS FB Coaches won't have a favorable view of GT, so when it is time to Recruit Players, we lose all the "tie-breakers" to places like uga.

Go look at the US News & World Report Top 50 National Universities, GT is the only one among the Top 50, that isn't "loved" in every corner of it's State, ask yourself why.

GT Alums and their azzhole behavior, paints GT into a corner and then we wonder where the support is, we poke fun at the rest of the State for having " Walmart Jobs" without realizing that many of those people might potentially buy GT Merch that helps with the finances of our Athl Dept, allowing everything to benefit from there, the temporary feeling of superiority pales when compared to the revenue we lose from this sort of behavior.

Can you imagine super rich Texas or Texas A&M Alums making cracks about non Grads having WalMart Jobs, how hard would in State Recruiting be in those small FB crazed towns throughout Texas?

We have a petty, small minded, little mans syndrome among too many of our Fans, and this is what makes GT less desirable to CFB fans throughout the State.

We as a FB Program, fail on so many different levels, we have a ton of work to do in all different Areas, beyond Players & Coaching

Asian American kids like football too dumbass.

Maybe you can't read - did you go to GT?
My daughter's friends who barely sleep 4 hours/night to make 4.4 adjusted gpas and 1550 SATs aren't worried about our football team. Maybe they like football but it's not driving their college decision. Their other top choices are Duke, Ivy etc. These are many of our future alums.

The SAT changed 20 years ago, no longer is it 2 sections worth 800 points each, there are now 3 sections worth 800 points each for a total of 2,400 as a Max Score.

No reason to ever be a "nerd school" --- just be a great University that puts out successful Alums that support everything the University does including Athletics.

It makes no sense to support Academics and not support Athletics.

Clemson has IPTAY, we should start "Plus 25" for our Alums and Donors, for every donation made to support Academics, don't reduce Academic donations, simply take 25% of the Number you donate to Academics and donate that to the GTAA, just go the extra mile to the tune of an extra 25%

This shouldn't come from the Athl Dept either, that way Academics gets their same yearly donations and Athletics gets more support from Alums, the School has to encourage that Alums donate to Athletics.

So you’re saying Asians killed GT.
I assume you're kidding. Many of our best undergrads are Asian-American, not necessarily Asian. Most of our best grad students are international, many Asian. An increasing number of our students aren't as worried about football, if that's what you mean "killing GT"?

When exactly did the grade inflation occur where someone could have a 4.4 GPA. Back in my day, one B in HS meant no 4.0 for you, ever. Maybe you could end with a 3.95, maybe.

AP classes can apparently bump you over 4.0. My high school was just adding AP my last couple of years (graduated in ‘88), but I don’t think we did 4.0+. But the valedictorian transferred in from a dinky Christian school with like a 4.2 somehow.

AP courses and IB Courses count for 1 extra point in many school systems, that way an "A" is 5 points vs 4 points.

This leads to GPAs higher than 4.0

IB - International Bacculaurate (sp?)- is that right

I think this has been a thing for the last few decades

Yea, I had AP classes, but there was no grade over a 4.0, no matter what the classes were. To pick a valedictorian, the school would look at your GPA and what classes you took.

I don’t know man. The board turned into a ööööshow so I’m just going along with it. I’ll be posting a Bulgur recipe in this thread shortly.
