This makes me sick. It sounds like UGA football has

Majoring in engineering in Athens is a far cry from majoring in engineering between North Avenue and Tenth Street. The demand for hiring a Dawg football player with a Dawg engineering degree can’t be too high.

#1, that article is riddled with grammatical errors. I imagine the author is a graduate of U(sic)Ga's journalism school.

Yeah but can't we find a few of these top rated players that want engineering and convince them they can make it through engineering between North Avenue and Tenth Street?

Don't we have tutors and resources to help them through the rigors of North Ave Trade School? I hated seeing Josh Dobbs play for Tenn. He was an engineering major and from Alpharetta.

. “The brands are different, that’s all,” Gattie said. “Our engineers compete with their engineers for jobs.

My neighbors retarded Labrador is 60 hours into his UGA engineering degree and on the Dean’s list. Just because The gaggers give engineering degrees to morons that can snap three LEGO’s together means nothing.

The prior regime could not. Remains to be seen if this one can.

Tech makes more money on research than the entire SEC makes on its ESPN TV deal. Technology Square has global hi-tech companies locating in Atlanta to recruit directly. The UGA engineering programs are a grab at that and will invariably require UGA to reverse positions on needing more investment for facilities. It's just a matter of time and whether the BoR remembers/cares.

Imitation is the finest form of flattery.

So what you’re saying is Ma Tech is gonna give the AA a bunch of that money so we can complete with the SEC schools.

So as a non alumni (no disrespect to you guys.) why isn’t the case being made that Tech couldn’t expand its field of degrees but uga gets to have an engineering program while Tech gets denied the ability to start up degrees.

Tech once had a school of commerce. IIRC, the BOR took that away from Tech and created Georgia State. Tech had a satellite campus with an Engineering Technology school. The BOR took that away and created Southern Tech. Almost every time Tech has tried to expand its offerings, the BOR had other plans.

I think @gtphd has a complete historical rundown of how the BOR has treated Tech ever since their creation of “a school for blacksmiths” in the suburbs of post war Atlanta.
