Tim Bylerly

Equivalent to looking at the 9th inning of a baseball game and saying "wow that base runner is a stud, he just stole the hell out of that base" on defensive indifference.

eeeeeeeehhhh a little bit different considering we were mere inches from recovering the onside kick with about 1:40 left in the game and down by 6.

Personally, I've been waiting for the Bylery to B-Back folks to come out in full force after the Legget news.

-edit-

just saw the post above the extremely lengthy bowrofl sequence. I expect more as the season comes closer or we struggle out of the gate at the B-Back position.

This Byerly to B Back nonsense needs to stop.

We need for Swilling to pick up his game.

We will be more than fine at B-Back. I'm more worried about depth at A-Back. Maybe we could try Bylerly at A-Back. He wouldn't get pounded as much there. I keed.

This will be the best 2-deep QBs we've had in my memory (maybe Hamilton/Godsey was close). Tech could probably win 8 games, even if Byerly was the starter all year.

In retrospective only. Godsey showed little promise as a backup.

Godsey wasn't near as good when he was backing up Joe as he ended up being. In replacement time, he never looked near as good as Byerly did. Later once he was a starter, and the playbook had changed, and he had starter reps, is when he got good.

Back then everyone thought we were going to go in the ööööter with Godsey at QB.

I was actually pretty distraught when Hamilton left and we had Godsey as the heir apparent. I couldn't believe we didn't have another Joe on the team. I suppose GOL and Fridge kinda knew what they were doing getting Godsey.

It's only "nonsense" because we don't NEED him there...yet. If our BBs struggle out of the gate, watch the chatter intensify.

Have watched Timmy play since he was 16 and carry the ball plenty - even between the tackles regularly. He's even bigger and stronger now than he was then. Never shies away from contact and has plenty of wiggle. I'm telling you, he'd be awesome back there.

I get the whole, "He's the backup QB! We need a backup!" argument, but BB is a pretty öööö important position in our offense and I'd rather have him back there if he's needed than holding a clip board 75% of the season.

Excellent points. Perhaps one of the other backup QB's will step up and make the move a no brainer.

Maybe he could do both; just probably not in the same game. Use him as a BB, move him back to QB if it looks like JT5 is going to miss significant time. Not sure what a BB pass play would look like out of our offense; but it might be an interesting added wrinkle.

Hasn't Days or Dwyer or someone thrown a pass like that? I seem to remember it, but I am getting old.

I believe it was Tyler Melton who threw a pass against UGA on the first play of the game in 2011.

Who threw such a good pass to Reggie that time? Mark # 12 Can't remember the last name from Greenwood SC? Mr Football from SC as a QB - became a WR - had a great diving catch against Auburn

Or maybe someone else threw that one to Reggie

Great pitch and catch on that one too

Mark Logan?

I remember Bilbo throwing one to RB, and Mike Cox another time.
