Top 5 Coaches that need to go

I’ve read on StinGTalk (a credible source of information for all things football) that Collins’ practices are different and they basically just run drills. Presumably this is at Collins’ direction.
If coordinators or position coaches are fired, won’t he just hire more who will cave to his ways? If TStan hires new coaches, any strong willed coach doing it his own way would cause dissent with Collins and some of the team. No, they are not getting the job done but it seems likely the problems are starting at the top. I don’t see an easy out, but less hugging and more face mask grabbing and ass chewing would help.
 
I really hate this thread. I guess it's just a place to vent. I'm as unhappy about this team as anyone. But other than the head coach, who literally makes millions, I don't like calling for folks' to be fired. I really don't even like calling for it for head coaches, either, but I can accept that with the amount of money they make. These folks have families and obligations, too. If they're not cutting it, then the head coach has to let them go. But I don't find anything about it good, or that it's something to be wishing for or giddy about. Obviously, YMMV.
 
Stop all the talk! The problem cannot and will not be cleaned up until Collins goes. He has established a toxic culture and he wii not change, no matter who the coordinators are. They do not practice and you can see it every Saturday. No discipline or ass chewing for the boneheaded plays. No game manage and head coach who has to run out on the field, no manner how small the injury. None one other coach who does that. He is not a leader, referees to them as his boys. After lose interview from sideline all he say, we are close. Gotta get with my boys. He is a buffoon and TStas dumb ass should be canned.

You realize neither CGC or Todd believe that, right?

They have juice and drip and burn and spin with effort while they battle. The guys are all in with them. They don't quit. They're fighters. They come to practice every day and fight some more and work for each other and the program. You just don't see it because you don't want to.

Did I miss anything?
 
I doubt our current Head Coach will hire proven coordinators and assistants who really know the game of football. Why?? Because proven assistant coaches will prove how incompetent our Head Coach is.

And thats where Jamey Chadwell was at the same time. The last year he was there they played a 59-58 2OT game against Chadwell at Charleston Southern.

My theory is he didn’t really expect to win this year and so he can blame it on the defense which is mostly Johnson guys (who aren’t good).

If CGC can recruit like this with 3 win seasons, imagine what he can do when the wins start to come in. We do need to tweak the coaching staff, but to me, the future looks brighter than it has since the O’Leary days.

He has made a Culture of Losing on the Flats look really cool. Below are the three top areas that I believe gets us into trouble every weekend. I believe that at least the top two areas are on CGC.

Culture vs. accountability: I'm all for having more energy in the program. Not a fan of the juice crew personally, but I applaud CGC's efforts to rebrand and appeal to more recruits, more ATL base, etc. The #1 problem with this team IMO though, is that you can still do all of the things you need to do to make this a fun place to be but still hold players accountable. I don't see the accountability. I see players making undisciplined plays, and yet, those same players keep trotting out. It may be that we are that thin across the board. But I doubt it. Stop telling the players you love them after we lose and start holding them accountable.

Game day coaching: We make way too many mistakes, from play calling (such as the playcalling when we knew we were going for it on 4th and long), clock management (no more details needed), failure to adjust when the other team adjusts, etc.

Defensive communications: No clue what is going on here. Perhaps this is on Thacker. Perhaps not. Or perhaps this goes back to #1. But the number of times someone is running wide open downfield is unbelievable.

Maybe if the assistants are also making the game calls. Because he’s comically bad at game management. But at that point we’re paying a recruiting coordinator $3M/year for 30ish ranked classes. Which is a questionable strategy.

Maybe the Fan Base needs to stop being old farts, none of that affects winning and losing, I admit it makes losing worse, but it isn't the cause of us losing.

We lose because we are weak on both LoS, then we are weak in the Secondary in an Era of up Tempo and Teams averaging 80 plays a Game with 45 of them being passes (These are the main reasons we are losing).

Old Farts paying attention to the ancillary crap and not focusing on what's really important, passing the hat to go and get difference makers on both Lines of Scrimmage.

Those same old farts complaining think a Free Education gets us good players and you then you win Games, that ceased when Dodd retired, please join us in 2021.

Over reaction much?

If we simply have an OLine and a secondary in the middle third among FBS Teams, we win 9 games, not elite, just a middle third OLine and a middle third Secondary and we are 8-2 with a darn good shot to upset ND

If you LOOK at the damn Games and stop over reacting about everything, you'll see why we lose the Games.

And no we aren't comically bad at Game Mgmt, we've had blips, but we aren't comically bad, comically bad at Game Mgmt is trying to get the FG unit on the Field and the half runs out before the snap.

My curiosity is why so few people around here want to do a deep dive and analyze why our 2 worst Areas (OLine and Secondary) are so bad when we have the most seniority in those 2 Areas.

Comically bad, is at the end of Games and Halves throwing 4 jump ball passes and actually thinking we had a chance to score.

Comically bad is allowing a T-Fr track Guy from USF to house 2 kickoffs against us in 2018, that was a comically bad decision to keep kicking to him, didn't he have a 3rd Return for like 40 -50 yds, so we actually kept kicking it to him even more, but back then we never blamed "Game Mgmt" we blamed the Kicker for not kicking it thru the EZ.

Kind of makes me wonder what kind of love child would come from a weekend mushroom fest between Hunter S. Thompson and Pepper Rodgers.
