Transfer Portal Tracker

The portal has shown and will continue to be a net positive for Georgia Tech. High level high school players who leave the state of Georgia often want to come home when they realize the load of garbage they were fed during high school recruiting isn’t always accurate. And with 2 major P4 programs in their home state, one of home is usually full of 4 and 5 stars, it means the other one often becomes a destination.

It is. Eric was great. He’s not our best. Game on the line, I want the ball going to Malik.
People forget all the dropped passes Singleton had early in the year....some of which were just stupidly dropped balls. It was only in the last few games that he showed up and got called on a lot. What I don't understand is how he could have what was perhaps his best game against the mutts and then turn around and sign with them. STUPID

Thought y'all were saying NIL is oh so good for GT?

In just a few years we've lost our best DL, RB, and WR.

Everyone is going to lose good players. We will also gain good players. Yes, the NIL landscape does appear to be working better for us than the old system where others could/would pay and we couldn't/wouldn't. See the class we just signed.

Let's get the 17 year old please

Sounds like part of a conversation between Jay Z and Diddy!

We lose our best players. I don't see that happening much elsewhere unless they aren't getting playing time or their team sucks...

Who is the last top Bama or UGA RB/WR who transferred?

We're like a farm team

What do you think we would have done this year without:

Haynes King
Ahmari Harvey
Warren Burrell
Chase Lane
Romello Height
Corey Robinson
Thomas Gore
Keylan Rutledge
Jackson Hawes
Ryland Goede
Jordan Van Den Burg

Not to mention we just signed a top 20 class, #2 in the ACC all with one of the highest rated recruits of all time. All possible because of NIL.

We have had an overwhelmingly net positive from the portal/NIL.

Well UGA lost their best WR Adonai Mitchell to Texas a couple of years ago who was drafted early by Colts this year

You whine so much, you can't even enjoy sour grapes

At the end of the day, he's a BBA major and UGA isn't that far behind GT in BBA degree's in the state. GT is actually 2nd behind Emory and UGA is 3rd. So though that piece of paper carries weight, unless it's a Master's Degree there's not going to be that much difference. Just facts. Secondly, how can anyone blame a guy for wanting to play for the opportunity of winning a Natty....cause like it or not we can't provide that and may never be able to with the way the Collegiate Athletics Landscape has changed. All the folks tossing him shade are acting like classless pricks. We can't and won't provide the $$$ to get the athletes they will and can due to deeper pockets. He's making a business decision and he could very well fit in there just like McConkey did there minus the drops (cause he's not even on Ladd's level as far as a WR) Just saying. Hate to have him leave but at the end of the day, he's not the first or the last and you can't blame him. Blame this collective bs/NIL/NCAA for not regulating this type of stuff. College Athletics are done for all the homers that think you'll keep kids for 4 yrs. Those kids are in the minority now
You're damn right that if any of our players go to UGA I'm going to act like a classless prick, you p****.

Average talent level might be higher but our top players are continually being picked off. Which means we'll be perennially stuck behind top teams.

The current landscape of College Football there's just going to be many examples of loyalty in College Football. This program in particular as the continue to grow and have good recruiting year in and out you will see top "Prospects" come and go. There will be a % of top level players on your teams that over 4 years transfers out to other places for a bunch of different reasons. There will be some chasing money, some that complete their degree and want to take a shot at a program slightly higher, some that share time with others and want their own spotlight. We will continue to bring kids in as while in the Transfer program.

Now more then ever importance of players is not as crucial as is...

1. Good Coaching who scheme, develop, and recruit both HS and Portal well
2. Financials to remain solid in the NIL landscape
3. Keeping these 2 things stead if you want to compete year in and year out
