You really are a different person in this forum. Cuz here our roles are reversed and I'm the one telling you that's pretty naive. There are all sorts of ways that coaches can push players to quit. The way they speak to them, they attitude towards them they encourage other players to have, etc. There are a thousand little interactions that coaches and players have all the time that can be tweaked to silently imply, "I wish you weren't here." I hope our coaches aren't doing that – and I have no reason to believe they are.
As to that woman's Tweet, this is very much the kind of thing where protective friends and relatives might act as if kids are being 'pushed out' when in fact they're just disappointed their friend/relative wasn't quite good enough to get 'above the line.' That's a pretty common human reaction.
I don't think he actually did, but didn't the Jameses claim he did and Leach denied it? I'm sorry if my memory was incorrect.Mike Leach never locked up Adam James. People need to stop perpetuating these myths.
I would like a football team where they really earn their right to go to Tech for free so I dont care how CGC pushes out the players who are not going to contribute to Tech's success. You cant expect a 4 year free ride just because somebody offered you a scholarship due to your accomplishments in high school. Thats how you end up with a high school team that gets spanked every year by its archrival. Especially since the rest of us who are not blessed with their talents end up taking out a mortgage to go to a school like Tech.
I agree. GT is paying our Coach a lot of money to make all decisions. I don’t care how he does it either. Every coach has their style. And this whole concept is a joke anyway. Any of these guys could stay at GT and finish their degree if they wanted. The football coach has no power to kick them out of school. This is the topic that no one ever talks about. Most of these guys are football players first then students second. If any player chooses to leave a GT degree program for a lesser school just to play a sport then I’m fine with them being gone. They’ll be the ones having to live with their decision when they hit the work force.
Asshole. Yeah, me neither.I'm gonna sound like an asshole, but I've never heard of either of these 2 guys.

Well, a lot of walk-on's want to. I wouldn't want to do it either, but I admire their desire to be part of a team and to contribute however they can, and to choose a great education over more playing time.
Yeah suck it up, kids, even if the coaches are influencing you daily to quit to free up a scholarship spot. It's a bitter pill, but we all have to make these type of decisions, or they are made for us. At Tech or any other college, if you can't make the grades, you'll either transfer, quit, or get booted. At work, if you can't perform, you get a new job or get fired. The same should probably be for football scholarships. But for a lot, maybe most, of scholarship athletes this is how they can afford to go to college, by being an athlete on scholarship. So I would show a little compassion for those leaving and freeing up scholarships.I agree. GT is paying our Coach a lot of money to make all decisions. I don’t care how he does it either. Yeah, walk-ons are a different breed, as I imagine many of them actually are in it for the education and some turned down full rides at lower levels of football to go to Tech.

Can u confirm blue shirts for a game next season?Didn't we hire some Director of Roster Management or some such? I'm sure he'll earn his keep and we'll be seeing grayshirts, blueshirts, etc just like at Bama.
