uga's 5-star QB commit

Eason would have to be an idiot to stick with UGA now.

Actually I think he'd have to be an idiot to go to any SEC team. He's not looking to hand the ball off 30+ times a game.

Unlike with a team such as ours.

More concerned with how many A, B, X, Y, Q backs we are going to sign and how many we hope can change to O & D lineman.

Like it or not QBs that play for Mark Richt get their shot in the NFL.

Except for Joe Cox, who went on to be a spokesman for Hillshire Farm Li'l Smokies.

Oh God, I finally forgot about that....

I predict you'll dream of fishing tonight. Everything will be fine until you go to bait the hook and you find yourself holding something that isn't quite a worm.

Outside of Stafford, who has done dick in the NFL out of georgia?

David Greene, their wonder bread QB, who, at one time was the winningest starting QB in CFB history, never played in a regular season game.

Aaron Murray, he of the most career passing yards in SEC history? Can't even beat out Alex "Mr. Mediocre" Smith, with Andy Reid as an NFL head coach.

DJ Shockley couldn't even win a starting job in the ööööing UFL, and it was all he could do to be the third string bitch boy in Atlanta for a handful of years.

Lol @ Cox, Tereshinki, and Mason.

Playing at uga is FAR from a golden opportunity at playing in the league...

Hmmmmmm....the best QB recruit in the country couldn't run our offense? . . . .I may have figured out why we're 3-6.

Is it really that difficult to understand that certain players are ill suited to certain offenses?

He'd probably be a bad fit at Ohio State too. Must mean they suck.

No you're right, we better adapt our offense to one that elite pocket passers would be good at so that we can all sit around and watch as they go to other schools. We still won't get the recruits but at least they fit our offense! That will surely turn around our luck this year.

Presents quite a conundrum their AD. Keep Richt and get Eason. Or can Richt, lose Eason, and roll the dice with how much further they could sink.

I don't really know if that's a conundrum. The QB concern is a side show to deeper issues. If the coach is perceived to have underperformed, there is no reason to keep him regardless of the talent he brings in. It's going to continue to underperform. The QB won't save him from eventual losses to the teams from the West that have better schemes and more talent.

They really are in a situation where they need to decide what they want to be. Perennial top 25, on the cusp of being an elite team, with an occasional down season, usually losing to the teams from the West in the most important games
OR
Take your chances with someone else that is unproven to maybe get better, but likely get worse...

And who doesn't want to see the AJ Suggs era return in power and glory?

Heck if we work hard and really put our mind to it maybe one day we will have as good of an offense of Georgia has this year.

Sounds like the Paul Hewitt days... we all know how great that worked out for us.

Indeed. We run a high school offense but everybody knows the top recruits want to play in a Pop Warner system.

There is no guarantee that Eason will be a great college QB. Some guys just don't make the jump to the next level and some guys that are under recruited become öööö fine QB's. UGAg keeping a coach to get one high school player because he is supposedly the savoir of the program is just öööö stupid. For all they know, the next great QB of the program may be a Colquitt County or Cartersville or somewhere in North Carolina. Hell, Ramsey was supposed to be the heir apparent down there and he sucks.

If he even hints at the fact that he'll leave if Richt does, Richt will stay (sadly). Simple as that. Eason is actually more valuable to them than the HC told coming into next year... But not for long when he disappoints. Then Richt is canned with even more frustration. Watch.
