UGAy playing GA Southern Good or bad?

UGA will shut us down better than App St did and their offenses are about the same.

UGA wins by 21+

öööö UGA

Agree on all counts. Even as early as your game with WVU, it was easy to tell that this year you guys did not have the same team as 2014. It's a shame.

We had the backup QB in against WVU but that probably would have only given us 14 more points.

Breaking in a new O Line and losing our best two WR's has been a killer for our offense and probably cost us the conference title.

On the bright side, your line has gotten experience and you'll be better for it next year without having to endure too awful of a season. Experience around here has become about as useful and telling as how much swagger a player has, maybe less so.

I hate it but that game is going to be a bloodbath.

Some of you guys haven't watched UGA very closely. Auburn had a pulse, sort of, but Kentucky and Missouri are about on a par with GSU (Check FPI). There isn't anything like a late-season roll going on for the Dawgs. Defense is much improved, though it hasn't seen a lot of really good offenses. Offense is what Trump calls "crippled." Literally and figuratively. The new OC and new OL coach changed all the blocking schemes and screwed up what was a good OL last season. No QB. Nothing is working well, and both these games, GSU and GT, will be closely contested. GSU is going to make a lot of UGA fans crazy, because they have no idea GSU is pretty good on offense by any standard. GT is a rival game and throw out the records.

A lot of the GSU fans that have worn blue and white all year will be wearing red and black on Saturday....which is sad.

I hope GSU makes it a game, the line is around 14 points....

While the hatred of the Mutts isn't as pervasive or deep-seated among the GSU fan base as it is among others, I think this week is different. Southern fans think this is their best chance to beat Georgia.

I think most of the folks with loyalties divided in some way, shape or form between Southern and UGa will be True Blue on Saturday night. Even if they aren't, the Richt antipathy in them may be so strong they don't mind seeing Georgia lose, if it will hasten a coaching change.

This game comes down to Carter, Jenkins and Floyd on Georgia's defense. If they can foil Southern's offense, it may be a long day for the Eagles. If not, this game is going to get tight for the Mutts.

Honestly, you're only reinforcing what I believe. This also happens in these circumstances, Georgia fans are convinced that they're going to be lucky to scrape by with a win (just a few weeks ago the majority of them were sure of the same thing regarding Auburn and Kentucky) and then suddenly right before we play, they remember that your facemask goes in front of your face and how to play football and everything else they had forgotten before.

And the last time that throwing out a drastic difference in records worked out in our favor? I wasn't even alive. I'd be more than elated to see it happen for this first time next week. But until I see otherwise, when Titanic is on my TV I feel pretty confident that I'm going to see that boat hit the iceberg and sink into the ocean, and Jack is going to freeze to death while Rose gets rescued and invited to Shreveport.

lol

I wish only the worst for UGA, and only the best for Tech, but seriously. If UGA loses to Tech this year, you guys should go ahead and burn Samford Stadium to the ground. Just quit.

I understand that, but this is my point. The biggest difference in your season and ours is schedule. This isn't the year I expected GT to have, but some of that is because I completely underestimated the schedule. It's not just Clemson and Notre Dame; a lot of teams like UNC and Pittsburgh and Duke are much improved. Both teams are way, way down and I really do believe a GT win is just as possible as last year--a year when we had a healthy Nick Chubb and a better quarterback. Sure, UGA will probably be a favorite but you guys will give the kind of effort you gave against FSU, healthy or not, and it SHOULD be pretty close--just like it nearly always is, when there is more of a talent differential. But you're right: If we lose, we won't burn Sanford, but probably the head coach is much more likely to be gone. You beat us once, shame on you. You beat us twice, we fire the coach! :naughty:

First dwag I've ever seen admit this about Tech. Kudos to you on that, sir.

Nothing to hide there. Every "dwag" I know will tell you why Donnan was fired. Several reasons were given, one of them being "record against rivals," but it was one rival that got him fired. Goff lasted as long as he did, on the other hand, because Tech was struggling during some of that era (though certainly not '90). Younger UGA fans don't get the rivalry, sadly enough. I've argued til I was blue in the face. Richt knows which game is priority one, I promise you. He goes all out for this one--which is one reason I made no excuses when we got whipped last season.
