UVA Postmortem

STFU, you ignorant windbag.
Aren't you worried you'll hurt my feelings? You are so sensitive to the needs of our quitter QB. Hell, everyone knows if you are down 7 at the 59 minute 30 second point of the game you just accept the loss because we made some bad plays during the rest of the game.

Sadly, I think it's pretty clear that Vagina is NOT "the worst team in the league."

In 2018, folks said the cubbard was bare. From what I see . . . this offense doesn't even HAVE a cubbard!!!

I've never been a big Sims fan, but he is sooooooooooo much better than anything else we have on that side of the ball.. If we were getting Sims-level play out of the offensive line, the receivers, the backs . . . we wouldn't have lost to Vagina or UCF and we'd be 5-2.
Nope. UCF easily beat us. They even elected not to score at our 4 yard line at the end of the game which would have made the score more true to how much better they are than us.

I relied on my live game recollection so I rewatched it. Leonard had triple coverage, Sims stared at Carter. When he looked at Carter coverage was corner behind Carter chasing him and LB in front. Throw was open over LB for a TD. Fairly easy throw there. Jenkins was wide open running across the middle but Sims was locked in on Carter, Va LB assumed Sims was going to Jenkins so moved to right. Sims threw the ball behind Carter, almost directly at Va's corner. The deflection went to other DB who read Sims and dropped his man- that part out of screen shot. The route was open way early, an easy read particularly for a 3rd year starter. It's the part of Sims' lack of development that is troublesome.
Leonard got triple covered? Sounds like a weird choice to waste resources

If you try to buy tickets from GT for Miami this morning you either believe the ticket office has some funny shenanigans going on or that ticket sales at GT are robust. They showed 75 total seats available in lower West and a whopping four seats available in lower East, with four more in the corner. Most upper sections on the sidelines show only a few scattered tickets available. So, all is well. We almost sellout for every game. Of course, the secondary ticket market is flush with seats.
Probably all Thug U fans buying them up.

We should've had time for 2 more plays. A deep out, either incomplete or getting 15 yds.... or at least a spoke. Then 45 seconds to call the final play. Instead Gibdumb took 9 seconds to execute a play knowing the clock was running out. We had 22 seconds when the RB went down. That's an eternity or a moment depending on your QB.
There was an eternity there in light of the coaching being total no-shows. Feeling the heat after their first meet-up with the new guy? No way how that ended was reasonable. The coaching is hapless and weak and needs to be replaced. Fingers crossed Batt is seeing it.

The blame isn’t simply on coaching. GT has the worst offense in the ACC in PPG 16.1 and 2nd worst in the ACC in YPG at 314. GT is playing a bunch of transfers who were backups at their previous school. Sometimes it comes down to a talent issue. GT has a talent issue. GT has the 8th worst offense in the country. Says something when UCONN, UVA, NW, VT, BC and Auburn just to name a few have better offenses.

I am serious. The only time Bobby Dodd has ever been full is when we play Clemson or Georgia and half the stands are occupied by their fans. It was like that when Paul Johnson was here and we were winning big.
This is nearly a generation ago now, but here are some attendance numbers during the Chan-tastic years.

2007 Army - 50,242
2006 Samford - 47,149
2006 Troy - 45,637
2006 Duke - 46,768
2005 UConn - 48,770
2005 Wake - 51,571
2004 Samford - 43,100
2004 Duke 46,856
2003 Maryland 51,524 (Thurs)

Fast fwd to 2019 when 47k showed up for the USF opener and a fair crowd of 43k was at The Citadel, but the rug got pulled out from beneath us and we've been in a tailspin ever since.

I don’t blame people for finding something better to do on their Saturday. The product on the field has been öööö for a while. That Virginia team is hot garbage and they dominated our offense.

Nope. UCF easily beat us. They even elected not to score at our 4 yard line at the end of the game which would have made the score more true to how much better they are than us.
Easily beat us? Wut? That score was nowhere close to how the game played out. We beat them in most stat categories for the game except final score. We missed two short FG's in the first half and got another punt blocked and returned for a TD. The score should have easily been us up 13-6 at half instead of down 13-7. Down 9 in the 3rd quarter and turned it over inside our 10 yard line again because HC was scared to kick a FG with his (obviously wrong) choice of place kicker. Fumbled it again next possession inside the 10 which was run all the way back the other way and Nate made the great TD saving play. It was a 6 point game until 10 minutes left in the game. We fell apart on defense near the end, especially after CT got ejected for targeting again. They didn't "easily" beat us.

Neither of those teams have 4 straight seasons of 3 wins. Show me a program that has been that poor on the field with good attendance.
Those teams are in the boonies. Getting to a Thursday night GF/BDS game by kickoff is like invading Kiev.
