Vetted

The SEC and GT need a therapy session so we can make up. That’s where we belong. While the B1G is better than the current circumstances, we are a southern football program. It just ain’t the same in the Midwest…not a right or wrong issue it’s just different.

I'm with you on this. This is the most natural fit for us. Many of our major sports programs (Baseball, Women's Volleyball, etc.) do quite well against the SEC type teams. Hopefully our basketball program would do the same soon. I would love to know the reason why we're never mentioned (or shunned by the SEC). Outside of athletics, UGA and GT are basically academic partners as State schools and both shared a brunt of the financial burden of an August University bailout in the coming FY. Having GT in the SEC would also add another game that SEC fans and us could go to in our own backyard. In the Biden economy, the last thing I'd want to do is burn more $$ to travel to a far away place and go to the ATL airport and deal with the crowds, TSA lines, parking, etc. I've attended Big 10 games and while exciting to watch, it's just a different world. We belong in the South regionally. Period. Whether the SEC, or the ACC.

I didn't say that their position would be sound, it was more a commentary about how they think (sic) versus how non mouth drooling, leg humping inbreds think.

The flaw in the logic is "Those who run UGA aren’t that stupid". I'd say don't sell them short, never underestimate their proclivities for unsound rationality due to a nice mix of arrogance, low IQ and an extra heapin' helpin' of sister lovin' (not that there's anything wrong with that if your sister is actually hot but still).
Your last sentence is a run on sentence. However, it would earn be at the top of the class at a UGA creative writing class.

It’s not spelling, it’s grammar.

A run-on sentence on a message board is indeed an egregious offense, a breach certainly worthy of such vernacular scorn. However, I'm at a loss for the specific terminology that would describe this, although maybe that comes from said UGA creative writing class?

It has to do with living in glass houses and throwing stones.

I don’t think they ever caught on as well as the saying.

You have to admit though, a glass paneled wall looking out over the ocean, a freshly collected basket of rocks along with a bottle of fine whiskey... well, to hell with uga and the aftermath of broken glass, unleashing the devastation down to the last stone is the very essence of living in the moment. YOLO

I agree it sounds nice. It probably was the Masons that discouraged glass houses and thus continued to spread that old saying.

The Masons, of course, always the Masons. I once tried the same exercise with rocks and a bottle of whiskey but it was a inside a brick house and the outcome wasn't quite as glorious.

I don’t think so. The downside for them is on those days we get lucky and win. It’s like now with us playing GA State or GSU or KSU. There is absolutely no upside for us to play those teams. If we win no one cares. If we lose then we become a joke. Those who run UGA aren’t that stupid to allow themselves to become a lottery ticket for GT with an in conference game. Would we want GA State joining the ACC today?

Going off of the last decade they're gonna worry far more about Clemson upsetting their bid for the east than GT. A down GT helps the conference less than it helps uga if we're in conference. The last 4 years would've mostly free wins for uga to bolster their standings.

All I know is that Miami better not make it to the SEC before or over us. Talking about a school that doesn't 'belong', both where they're at and their fans. They're more like an NFL fan base.

I am not sure you can say they even have a “fanbase”. On most Saturdays, they literally get about 15,000 fans.

Very few people disagree that the SEC is the preferred change and a better fit. However, if the B1G lifeboat comes by, you don’t tell it “no, thanks” to wait and see if the SEC lifeboat comes by at some point later. The acc is a listing ship and best not wait until it’s sinking for a move.

I understand the general nature of your point, but in effect wouldn’t that require Ugag to feel sympathetic towards our lowly plight, almost all of which has been self-inflicted, and then come to our rescue?

I guess so if that’s the way you want to look at it….probably not a winning argument.

Personally, I think GA Tech football is far more respected in the B1G than it is in the SECheat.

If I had to choose, and we may not get a choice, then I'd go B1G and hope for the best. That way we get to do the following:
1) Land on a stable ship (finances)
2) Get to play nationally - east coast to west coast with a lot of mid-west in between (visibility/recruiting)
3) Become the fly in the ointment right in the heart of SEC country (revenge)

The B1G checks all the boxes for those reasons. There are a few reasons not to be enamored with being in the B1G, but there are at least three *big* reasons above to like it.

Still not holding my breath, though.
