We’re A 7 Point Underdog At Wake Forest …

Weak has played Old Dominion, Vandy and Elon. Definitely not a daunting schedule. We have played probably the 1st or 2nd best team in the SEC West and a solid Louisville team. While we’re not favored I like our chances. Still we’re not good enough to take anything for granted. Until our D learns how to tackle, our season rests on our offense.

I doubt Ole Miss is better than LSU and Bama but we will find out soon enough.

Ok so then they are basically 4 point favorites all things equal. They have been well coached the last few yrs and are currently 3-0. I dont get the outrage about being the underdog.
I don’t like it but I understand it. These betting lines aren’t made to represent accurate predictions of scores either. They are made to produce equivalent betting on either side of the line. We aren’t better against the house. The goal of the house is not to bets against us, the goal of the house is the facilitating of a bet against each other for a fee.

With the Demon Deacons off to a perfect 2-0 start, the excitement of the ACC's highest scoring offense over the last six years, and a Wake Forest defense that has forced five turnovers through two games, the Wake Forest and Winston-Salem community is taking full advantage of the opportunity to see the winningest program in the state of North Carolina.

Winningest program in the state of North Carolina!

I really underestimated the secondary market. $25 gets good seats.

This is the most excuse ridden board I've ever seen. Wake is favored because they are a good ,well coached team. And Ole Miss ain't the first or second best team in the SEC West. Give me what you are smoking.

We’ll see about the Ole Miss thing beginning this week.

What’s the second best team in the SEC west?

Huge misconception. The lines are made purely on the game and the public moves it. For example, Nebraska opened as a TD favorite over Colorado before settling as Colorado as a FG favorite. Vegas took a bath. If it was to produce equal betting, Colorado would have opened as the favorite.

and home field advantage is roughly three.

That’s not a misconception at all. Yes the casino covers bets. The whole idea is to win in the long run. They took a bath on Colorado but typically they move lines to cover their position. But in essence the casino is hedging whatever bet by encouraging where the money goes.

Again, this is 100% false. The lines are made in seconds and never take public perception into account. The media and recency bias do more for Vegas than any amount of handicapping the public opinion ever could. With a 10% cushion built in, they will never lose in the long run despite the occasional bath. The Sharps move the lines upon release on Sunday and/or within the closing hours of kickoff. The time between is the public at large. The TCU game had next to nothing to do with the line against Nebraska, but each game into the season gives more weight to recently played games, but never consider public opinion or even betting upon release of the initial line. Not even a little bit.

SEC West
LSU, Bama, Ole Miss, Arkansas, A&M, Auburn, Miss State
I think Ole Miss will finish no higher than 2nd, no lower than 5th
