We got out-coached today

Both sides of the ball. Can't say we were out-manned. More so on the defensive side. But Cutcliffe mixed it up well with the trick play while we failed to make any in game adjustments. This is on both PJ and Roof.
I would say Duke might have us outmanned. But your points are true.

Defense was abysmal, absolutely bottomed out, historically futile..and we have more talent on that side of the ball.

The offense...I dunno, we are thin at O-line and we have to start a qb that can't throw because his big play ability is the only thing that gives us a chance to win.

Also special teams is comically bad.

I'm a big defender of CPJ. Beating UGA 2 out of last 3 years, as well as 9+ wins both those years. I work with a Nebraska fan, so I'm extremely skeptical of magical coach firings arguments. The "right" coach is always around the corner. In Gailey's years, that right coach was overwhelmingly CPJ.

But I don't know what the hell happened in that second half. Maybe TJ has gotten inside his own head too much since Clemson. The reads and throws have gone downhill. That's on the coaches ultimately, for however they've been trying to help him.

Ted Roof may be a good recruiter, but he has continually schemed not to lose. Yes, if you scheme more aggressively, maybe you give up a vertical with separation. But öööö, a couple of those big plays are better than being gashed so much on medium throws.

If Ted Roof is not fired and/or the team comes out listless against UGA like this second half, then even I question CPJ's future.

I still say you're stupid to fire him after this year regardless, but he will be on the hot seat next year. This right now is worse than any time in 2015, when break after break went again Tech. This isn't that.
This is an excellent post. Agreed 100%.

What does "holding him accountable" and "holding his feet to the fire" consist of, exactly?

Making sweeping statements about him as a coach over this is stupid, regardless of how logic-defyingly terrible we were today. Our offense was alright in the first half, in the second half it was atrocious and CPJ's play calling was just as bad as the performances on the field. Paul Johnson sucked today, our offense sucked, our defense and Ted Roof defy my vocabulary with their performances, but I'm not sure what it is you want.
This works for me.

Duke has had 20 point leads on us in three of our last four games against them. Sadly, Duke should be favored whenever they play us.

Wow, just wow. The people defending this offense, SMH. We can't pass because we haven't recruited a QB who is a dual threat, plain and simple. We have no big body to put a B-back. Jeune is a very under-rated reciever who we can't take advantage of. The OL is pretty good; but we can't take advantage of it on days like today either. This offense has been mediocre or worse the entire season; but you guys are happy with it. Defense has obvious problems as well; but we are supposed to have a Marquee offense.

GT lacks talent in several areas: offensive line, receiver, defensive line, linebacker and safety.
The poor special teams play is also a talent issue.

There is no excuse for getting dominated by Duke.

This game will probably end up costing roof his job. The guys just were ready to play on defense.

You missed QB

Don't think so. Didn't we give him an extension and pay bump this year?

Regretfully it will take another bad year before he gets fired.

No. You don’t get to fire three defensive coordinators and keep your job. Three and out.

I offer no opinion on whether we should want Roof or not.

But you guys are crazy if you think he’s getting fired over this game. We have one of the better defenses in the conference this year. Incredibly.

No way he'll be fired unless UGA puts up 50 or more on us
That may very well happen. I'm not familiar with his contract, is the buyout really that severe? Would paying it be worse than the risk of seeing this kind of defensive performance again?

"I don't know what to say. I mean, that was a pretty thorough butt-kicking. That was embarrassing. They went through us like we weren't even out there."

"I think we ran 6 plays in the 3rd quarter. By the time you get the ball you're down 17"

Are these actual quotes or what you're anticipating?
